This was the review I wrote for Trip Advisor: Enjoyable Winter Holiday (4.5 out of 5). Great on the whole but a couple of areas for improvement. We stayed at Rixos Magawish for eight nights in January 2026 and overall had a very enjoyable holiday. The location is excellent — very close to the airport, with a transfer of around 10 minutes. First impressions were strong. We were welcomed at the door, checked in efficiently, and while we relaxed with a drink in reception, a member of staff booked some of the à la carte restaurants for us. Given the size of the resort, the shuttle buggies that take you (and your luggage) around were very helpful. The room was excellent — very spacious and definitely felt like a five-star experience. On arrival there was an unnecessary camp bed set up, which we didn’t need, but after asking at reception the next day it was removed almost immediately. Great service. The resort itself is large, well laid out, and pleasant to explore. Bars were very good, particularly the Panorama Bar. Pool areas were also very nice we never struggled to get sunbeds. I imagine it could be busier in peak season, but there are multiple pool options. The main buffet was okay, but not outstanding compared to other five-star resorts we’ve stayed at. It was perfectly adequate, but I’d recommend using the live cooking stations and outdoor barbecue areas where the food is freshly prepared — these were noticeably better. The à la carte restaurants were the highlight. We ate at Salt (excellent), the Brazilian restaurant (very good), the Greek restaurant (excellent), and the Turkish restaurant (very good). Every meal was impressive. The only downside was availability — despite staying eight nights, we were only able to book four restaurants and couldn’t get a reservation at the Asian restaurant at all, which was disappointing. Evening entertainment was probably the weakest area. We’ve experienced better evening entertainment at other five-star resorts in January. To be fair, it was low season, so the programme may not have been as extensive, but it was just fine rather than memorable. There are some nice bars for evening drinks, but the entertainment itself could be improved. The staff throughout the resort were excellent — friendly, helpful, and professional. Service was a real strength. The staff really do make the difference here, not a bad word to say about a single one. One final minor issue was checkout day. The shower and changing facilities were very small and uncomfortable given the number of guests using them at the same time, which slightly let down the experience at the very end. Overall, though, this was a very enjoyable holiday. We would happily return and would also consider other Rixos resorts in Egypt based on this experience.

This was our second time staying at the Rixos Premium Magawish, and once again, it did not disappoint. Returning to this resort felt like coming home to luxury. The service remains world-class, and we are already planning our next visit. A special thank you to Mohamed Abd Elhady, our cleaning guy for room 42204. He did an incredible job keeping everything spotless and was so professional throughout our stay. The dining was another major highlight. At the main restaurant, Turquoise, we were exceptionally well looked after by Tamer Ahmed, who made sure every meal was a great experience. We also want to give a huge shout-out to our favorite chef, Chef Huseini, at the Churasquaria Brazilian Restaurant. His food is outstanding and truly made our evenings special. The staff here really make the difference. We will definitely return for a third time!

From the day we arrived to the day we sadly left we loved our stay here. All staff were friendly, kind and couldn’t do enough for you. This complex has thought of everything. Our suite in block 42 was spotless, spacious and so comfortable. Our room attendant Maher had our room like new each day. All restaurants are great, but the buffet is one of the best ever, there’s absolutely something for everyone.

After more than a month long trip in Egypt we booked Rixos to unwind, recuperate and relax before heading back home. The overall experience at Rixos surpassed our expectations. Everything from the wonderful and attentive staff to January 6 elaborate dinner and show to many other small details were perfect in every way.
