Been to Rixos hotels many times, and evaluate them all from good to excellent. However, Magawish is not the case. Rooms are dirty, with considerable wear and tear all around. Everywhere we touched was a layer of dust / dirt / oily trails. Although we booked a king size room, we were given a double room with 2 beds combined, as a result, one of us didn't have a soft headrest, but a wall. Matraces were very soft, thus causing a severe backpain. We asked at the reception in person (because phone was broken as well, and so dirty I was afraid to touch it) to change the matraces THREE TIMES IN A SINGLE DAY and nothing had happened. It got changed only the next day, and only one out of 2! Phone hasn't been fixed as well. There was a strong moldy smell in the bathroom, and bathroom table was dirty. Air conditioner sounded like an airplane taking off. Carpets were dirty, so had to use flip flops in a luxury 5 star hotel! Food was pretty much bad, especially in main restaurants - Turquose and People's. Variety is bad, some things missing at all (good fish, nicely cooked meat, seafood, different juices, soups). Also, the zone where the food sits is very small, so pretty much overcrowded. We have visited almost every A La Carte restaurants and they were slightly better but still definetely far from what you'd expect from Rixos. For example, sushi in Asian were like cheapest sushi delivery in our own country 15 years ago - deformed, with weird ingridients like a mayonaise or with a fake eel (crabl sticks minced meat painted to look like eel). However, Ice Cream was tasty. Important con about sitting inside is very bright light that deletes any attempts to create cozyness - they have table lights and main light turned on simultaneously. Alcohol is very shady as well. Every order of Jack is a lottery. 1 of 10 is okay, but others are some fake copycats causing issues to people with allergies on badly distilled spirits, like me. Bacardi was also strange, but as it goes with Coke, was ok. Henessy cognaq in Panorama bar was ok. In lobby bar it was perfect, but looks strange that a proper drinking is only at Reception. All the ammenities in the hotel are worn out as well. Whenever you look - there will be either something broken or badly repainted or fixed with a ton of sealant. A joke about fixing anything in the world with enough duct tape plays here well - just with a sealant. Beach area ain't good either. While it is relatively easy to find a sunbed, they are mostly dirty. But the worst is the sand itself. Nobody bothers to clean it overnight, so it has tons of bottle caps, sharp rocks and other small debries that can damage your feet. There are big trash cans all over the beach (omg, these should be located outside it), without any covers, so lots of crow are digging the trash and it is being thrown out and flies all around. There is a horse farm nearby. Horses and rabbits were amazing, but the landsape you travel through to get to the beach is disgusting - through some dirty backyards full of rubble causing the horse almost to trip over, along the dormatory where the staff lives, with some old furniture and destroyed cars all around. Bottom line. Review looks bad, but it is bad only considering its price. If charged 2x less, would be a wonderful hotel. But having in mind its reputation and price - very bad. Sorry, Rixos, next time we will go somewhere else. Important update : on the last day, despite having a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, cleaner has quitely knocked on the door (thanks God that I have a good hear and was able to react) and tried to enter thr room at 9 AM while we were in a middle of a something private. His reason was "you are leaving today". What a nonsense - checkout is at 12:00. Absolutely disgusting.

From the condition of the room to the service lapses, maintenance issues, food quality, and the beach environment, each of the concerns you mentioned is absolutely not reflective of what your experience should be. Reading about the repeated requests for mattress changes, the moldy smell in the bathroom, the broken phone, the lighting and food quality concerns, and especially the inappropriate disturbance despite a “Do Not Disturb” sign is extremely distressing. You were right to expect far better. I want to assure you that every point you raised has already been shared with the relevant department heads for immediate review and action. Cleanliness, maintenance, food quality, and guest privacy are all fundamental pillars of our service, and the experiences you described are unacceptable. We are committed to addressing these issues thoroughly. Despite this disappointing visit, I truly hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to restore your trust. I would be honored to personally oversee all arrangements for your next stay and ensure that every element - from your room to your dining experience to the beach environment - reflects the quality and warmth you have known from Rixos in the past. Staff are fantastic especially Mahmoud Ahmed and the cleaner who works with him. The beach was a bit too crowded for us and construction noise was a pain. (Not informed about) & too many kids for us so we retreated to the lotus pool which was much quieter and suited us. We struggled to get reservations at any restaurants so gave in and went to the Turquoise restaurant every day. Food good & staff great but food could have been a bit hotter, however if you go to the pasta station it’s piping hot and the guy was so funny. I had the pasta a little too often 🥰 The air con didn’t seem to work on the first night but after letting reception know the next day it was sorted. Fantastic. Service from any staff member was out of this world and nothing was too much trouble. The ice cream parlour was a real treat too. Room fantastic, service outstanding. We would go back & thanks for a pleasurable stay
