Ibis Styles Sepang: Long review ahead Platinum member staying 7 nights First time staying at this hotel and despite the higher price point I would normally pay for an ibis Styles hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the features of the facility. 7 nights stay at an airport hotel is unnecessarily long because most travelers just stay a night or 2 and leave for convenience of catching a flight. I’m here only for Malaysian air mile accumulation. Let me give a review based on my experience of encountering each subject matter. Hotel-Airport shuttle bus: There’s only 1 bus per hr going to both terminal 1 & 2 and back to the hotel. The driver leaves on the dot of departure time so make sure you arrive on time. The bus will park on Level 1 in between exit doors 2 or 3 at Terminal 1. It’s got a huge ibis styles & ALL logo on the white bus. You can’t miss it (unless you are 1min late and missed the bus). If you are leaving from the hotel to the airport, bus to terminal 1 takes 5 mins to arrive. But it will wait 10-15min until exactly time of departure to go to Terminal 2. So if u are passenger needing to go to Terminal 2 from the hotel in a rush, you need to account for the extra wait time. If you get on the bus at Terminal 1, the bus will take you to terminal 2 before arriving back at the hotel. So often what happened when i was catching the latest bus departing at 23:20 from T1, after looping around to T2, i didn’t arrive back at the hotel until midnight. No registration required if you are hoping on from the airport but if you are catching the bus from the hotel then you need to register upon check in. They wouldn’t let me register by email before i arrived for check in. Actually, they told me it’s “first come first serve” but the bus are big tour bus sizes. You don’t have to be worried about not being able to get on the registered list. (see my photos for reference) I’ve taken the largest and med size bus. I’m assuming the smaller 16 seater bus are operating between the hotel and the Mitsui Outlet Park. Check-in: I checked in at midnight. I must admit their midnight staff are very friendly and bright smiles all around. Most hotel crews at midnight are bare min, but this ibis style had at least 2 counters open, a couple to help with unloading luggage from the bus. I got all my questions answered and keys in hand fairly quickly. Room: All rooms are on ground level. I would say the noise cancellation is fairly good. I can still hear people rolling their luggage going by the window and door but i cannot hear my neighbors. Higher ceiling than I would expect for ibis Styles. Very roomy. Shower bathroom only. Overall comfort achieved. I slept well on the bed, I could control the aircon fan, speed, switch to dry mode instead of it being on full blast on cold mode blowing at the bed. Welcome fruit basket was fuller than I expected. Handwritten welcome note was a nice touch. Breakfast buffet: Fresh salad! Literally the leafy greens were still attached to the roots and were in pots. Honestly I didn’t know how to eat from this fresh selection so i skipped it. 😅 I’m a cheese lover so I was surprised to see swiss cheese, brie and blue cheese at an ibis buffet! 😋 I didn’t get to dine in for breakfast as much as I would have liked. I took early 6am bus to the airport. Breakfast buffet opens at 6am. So I asked for the next best thing… Breakfast to-go: When I checked in, I registered for airport bus and also requested breakfast to go. Cheese sandwich, muffin, pastry, juice (no sugar), apples. I preferred this simple and nutritious breakfast than the daily repeat of airplane food. It was also fun to get my little brown paper bag to go every morning. Swimming pool & Gym: The swimming pool here is huge! So much bigger than expected for an ibis styles hotel. I wonder if this hotel was originally a different brand hotel and got rebranded to ibis styles afterwards. This pools size is unworthy of the budget hotel name. I was able to go swim twice during my stay. The water was warm. Not sure if it’s a heated pool or just that it’s warm from being under the heat of the day. Even an early morning swim, it felt like i was getting into a luke warm bath temperature. I didn’t try the gym, but it was fairly well equipped. Gym faced the pool. Drink voucher: Nothing to rave about. Just coffee, tea or canned juices, and soda. No specials for even platinum members. Overall grade: hidden gem discovery! 💎 I would be back because I’m still chasing MH air miles. This hotel is a definite repeat for future airport stays.

Stayed one night as we had a flight to take in the morning. Had drinks and light dinner in the bar - well priced with my Accor discount, food was satisfactory and tasty enough, staff were friendly. Breakfast had a good selection of food - no complaints there. Overall a pleasant stay
