The gentleman who checked us in at 1:30am was friendly and the linen was definitely clean (still a sticker on my mum's bottom sheet) and the rooms were a good size. However, there seemed to be little to no covid measures, stains on the carpet, dated decor, bathroom didn't seem clean and the tiles were cracked. We were also woken very early in the morning (7.30am) to cleaners smacking their hoovers against walls. It was only a one night stop over after a wedding but had we been scheduled to stay longer I think we would have left and found somewhere different. The breakfast didn't look great for the money (buffet style). Also the taxi service that was recommended to us by the hotel was awful and left our party waiting outside for over half an hour despite it being pre-booked. Looking online it seemed that we were not the only people with this issue. The hotel overall seemed very dated and I would not pay the £70 per night rate again.

However, I'm sorry to see that your stay was met with some inconveniences. All of our rooms are currently in the process of getting painted, my manager has taken note of your feedback regarding the tiling and will be taking measures to fix it. In regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, sanitizer has been stationed all around the hotel, perspex screens have been placed around the bar and reception area, masks are available on request and all of our staff members are kitted with face masks. A dusty room with cobwebs in the corner. Poor quality matress improved with a topper on it. TV controls were damaged with no n.o 2 button. However a lovely powerful shower. Didn't have breakfast , but have had their breakfast in the past and has always been good. Staff at reception were friendly and polite.

Obviously staying in hotels during the covid pandemic is different, but the staff at this hotel explained the new routines before I went to my room and were always helpful when I needed to check something or to ask for tea, coffee and milk or organising a change of bedding and towels by housekeeping, who I find are always friendly at this hotel.

Stopped here loads of times, reception fine, bar, breakfast restaurant is fine but rooms need some TLC. The windows wouldn't be much use in a frost!

Good location as just of the M1. Decent hotel especially for the low price paid. Comfy bed and quiet (some traffic noise but can’t be helped).

Fantastic stay as it has been for the past 9 years we have been coming regularly.

One of the worst experiences of staying in a hotel ever. We checked in online and collected keys mid afternoon for room 209. Thankfully we didn’t take any bags into the room (all will be reviled) On our return from a wedding at around midnight we tried to access the said room to find it was occupied? How embrassing for us and how scary for the person sat in bed? We went to reception where we received another key, again for the room to be occupied. At the third time of trying we managed to enter a room that was empty. We had spent nearly an hour dragging luggage around, rattling on doors of other customers and generally getting the feeling that no one knew what they were doing! The room itself was bare, old and stale smelling. We have left details with the Sunday morning receptionist for the manager to contact us but have heard nothing yet? I will be filing a formal complaint regarding the above as it is not the standard you come to expect!

Ideal location for a sporting event I was competing in. Handy to be able to walk across to Triple Bob pub/carvery to eat.

very disappointed with our stay 1 . they shower had no pressure what's so ever not clean at all mould all around the shower base 2. did expect other guest entering my room while we where asleep and waking our daughter up with such a scare 3. breakfast was disappointing also bacon and all the ingredients where so over cooked and like eating cardboard

We have stayed here before (before Covid) and found the hotel clean and comfortable. Covid measures were in place. We had breakfast in the hotel but had our main meals in the Harvester on site. It is very convenient for the motorway.

Having stayed at this Ibis many times on this occasion i feel the service was poor , lift not working,unable to get into our room so having to walk back down the stairs to report it,not having the bins emptied, tea and coffee facilities not replaced ,hopefully it was a one off and the good service will return,have stayed there 4 times during COVID so the virus wasn’t,the problem.

Generally the hotel was good for the price paid, I wasn't looking for a 5 star hotel. The room was clean and tidy but lacked enough bed covering, just a sheet and a very thin blanket and short of filling the whole bed. But the main problem was with the full English breakfast, I didn't get one - it was paid for in advance, and when checking in told that it was available from 6AM. As I was needing to miss the main morning traffic for a long drive to Scotland, I arrived the table just on 6, to be told full English was available from 6:30 not 6:00, a comment was made to the affect that people don't normally have "such and early start" - I left with just a continental breakfast. As to wait and eat at 6:30 would have put me in th main rush hour traffic
