I only had one night here, but will definitely stay here again on future visits. The staff were very welcoming and gracious. For no specific reason, I was given an upgrade to a room on the top floor. The room was spacious and very well laid out, with plenty of room to put my things (especially in the bathroom). The bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast included a great ample and excellent. I highly recommend Mercure Ponta Delgada!

The hotel is very well located in the center of Ponta Delgada (although difficult to find when driving by the first time!). It looks very recent, the room was very clean and spacious. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful especially at the bar (which is great by the way). Breakfast was also very good. The hotel has a small free outdoors parking garage, although you cannot book a space, I always had a place for my car at the end of the day (but in high season might be more complicated). It was a perfect spot for our trip to São Miguel island.

I had a very good stay overall at Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The room with balcony was great, the spa is very enjoyable, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of quality products. I truly appreciated the special rate that was kindly offered to me. I am rating this stay 10/10, also because I know how important guest satisfaction scores are. However, I would like to share a few points regarding my arrival experience, which could be improved. When I arrived late in the evening after a full day of travel, I had to wait nearly one hour at reception due to a group being checked in ahead of me. Although there were two receptionists, no one came to acknowledge or assist the individual guests waiting behind, which made the wait feel quite long. Once I was finally attended to, I experienced an additional delay (around 15–20 minutes) due to an issue with my reservation. I had booked a special negotiated rate and had even contacted the hotel by email two weeks prior to confirm everything was correct. Unfortunately, the rate had not been properly applied, which extended the check-in process. I also noticed that some reception staff do not always greet guests when they pass by the front desk, which feels a bit below the expected service level. Finally, I found it a bit disappointing to be charged €3 for a swimming cap at the spa, especially given the arrival experience, and also because this rule did not seem to be consistently enforced with other guests. That said, these points did not prevent me from enjoying my stay, and I would like to thank the team again for the room and the overall quality of the hotel. Without the special rate and my professional background in hospitality, my perception of the arrival experience would likely have been significantly lower.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, located ideally in the centre of Ponta Delgada. The facilities were excellent, especially the pool area, sauna, steam room and the bar which all felt luxurious and not overcrowded. The room and balcony was quite spacious, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed breakfast, a great selection to choose from.
