The hotel itself is beautiful and well-designed, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, I was a bit disappointed with the check-in experience, as the reception staff seemed impatient and did not provide any introduction to the hotel’s facilities. Additionally, during my stay, there were no activities available and most parts of the hot spring were closed. It would have been helpful to receive advance notice about this. Lastly, the breakfast was unfortunately below average and did not meet the standard I expected from a hotel of this level.

We had good time there. I'd like to thank front desk staff Shirley who's extremely friendly, helpful and considerable. Shirley provided all the information we need and arranged everything for us prior. Food is delicious and fresh. All of the staff members we met are super friendly. The resort has good concept of green environment. Spa is comfortable. If the temperature can be adjusted and be a little bit higher, that would be perfect.

As a loyal Accor member, I was disappointed to find that I did not receive a room upgrade. Although I was informed that the hotel was fully booked, it is reasonable not to offer a room upgrade. However, I was assigned a room on the lower first floor, which does not reflect the respect and consideration of room upgrade (even upgraded to a higher floor) that Accor members expected. Additionally, I expected a higher standard of service from a five-star hotel. After my check-in, there was no assistance to guide me to my room or help with my luggage. Furthermore, I found the room lacking basic amenities such as body wash, shampoo, and hand wash, which is unacceptable. Lastly, I encountered a delay when attempting to burn my points at the front desk. It took nearly 20 minutes due to staff unfamiliarity with the process.

Definitely a hidden gem near Chengdu

First I have to be honest, it is not my first time visit Chengdu and I have multiple elite memberships with at least three international hotel chains. Yet I'm still choosing this hotel as one of my stop in Chengdu for the following reason: First, I have fell in love with MGallery brand when I first experienced in Phu Quoc. Ever since MGallery has build a strong life style collection brand in my heart and becoming my cup of tea. And hence, I started to explore MGallery more often whenever I travel to a city. Second, the hot spring feature in this hotel. It's natural hot spring with thousands of years' reputation and you can feel yourself indulged in a sweet retreat when you start your winter hot spring journey at Ocean Spring Resort Chengdu. The rustic cooking of fresh local village ingredient is another perk of the stay. Last but not the least, if you are driving and want an easy access to both Sanxindui Museum and Panda breading research base, the driving distance was 40 minutes and 60 minutes respectively. I'm sure I will bring my family back to this resort the next time we embark on a family vacation around Chengdu.
