Previously stayed as a hotel guest for a week and then became a long-term guest at the residence for nearly a year now. Despite occasional service disappointments from time to time, staff are overall professional, friendly and helpful. The duty managers (special thanks to Woody, Donny, Jacob and Jun) are overall shrew, quick to respond, sensitive and sensible, but selected individual(s) will need to improve his communication skills, particular in English as part of a global luxury hotel chain. The Guest Experience Team (special thanks to Sue, Cherry, Hailey, Jisoo and Regina) on 5F delivers excellent, considerate customised service. Their smiles are so welcoming that one will easily consider Sofitel his/her home. The Concierge Team (special thanks to Kimi and James) is overall very understanding, attentive, and readily available to offer a wide range of services and assistance. The Housekeeping Team (special thanks to Meghan) is dedicated, careful, warm and friendly. I feel comfortable and safe to have them looked after my apartment and belongings. There has been noticeable improvements on the daily cocktail menus after a series of feedback was given, but there is still space for improvements as some old bad habits do reappear occasionally. Overall, the Sofitel Team is empathetic, hardworking and willing to reflect and improve on areas which seem inadequate. They take feedback seriously and show their eagerness to juggle the various needs and expectations of a variety of guests who have different cultural backgrounds and personal preference. That said, real tier-1 customer experience only comes from sincere strive for excellence and proactive, ongoing review of existing policies and/or operational processes. The mangement must not fall into a habit of heavily relying on customers' feedback to deliver improvements and consider this attitude appropriate or sufficient. All-in-all, I have been well looked after by all the teams at Sofitel and have just renewed my annual contract with them. Some long-term technical issues in the Hotel rooms, such as sharp wardrobe handle which cut my fingers during my intial stay. That also happened to my cousin, who chose to stay at the hotel after I shared my recommendation. I am expecting more friends to visit in 2026. At the Residence, the spotlights throughout the apartment keep flickering and according to the advice I was given, changing the electrical board may not resolve the issue, so I did not take the risk, when selected ones I need to use most are not flickering. The engineering team is less efficient and knowledgeable than one would expect for a 5-star hotel in Asia, so this division definitely needs some noticeable improvements to be qualified for a tier-1 professional level. Additional note - I would recommend upgrading the standard USB power sockets to include USB-C type as it is now very common. The overall central heating/air con is not very even throughout the premises - again the Engineering Team.... One main down side is that the Indian community is fairly large (my experience since Q2 2025) and unfortunately, very annoying - the use of Indian herbs causing some odour aside, they are very loud in the public areas ongingly (even general chit chats in the Residence Lounge) - both adults and children. I consider this a very selfish and uneducated behaviour and mostly, a reflection of the quality of their background, despite being able to afford to stay at this hotel, either themselves or as part of their expat package. I wish they have some minimal awareness of the poor image they represent of their nation and that they are not in India anymore. Causing nuisance to others can result in the termination of their contract - I wish Sofitel can execute this term as elaborated in our rental agreement when appropriate. So given the comments, to be exact, I would rate 4★+ for Rooms, Service and Location. Despite the proximity to various public transportation, the lack of a direct airport limousine bus stop at the hotel makes it failed to reach the 5★ level. Rooms 4.0 Service 4.0 Location 4.0 1/ Hotel highlights: Great view 2/ Rooms: Overall spacious, modern and classy. No onsite laundry room, so may see inconsistencies in the quality of beddings (e.g. holes in bed sheets). Should consider retiring older towels earlier as they become too rough. 3/ Nearby activities: Plenty! 4/ Safety: Very safe area but Sofitel should review the access to certain areas within the premises by the public (e.g. dedicated Residence Lounge can be accessed by the public via elevators that are unguarded) - either for special events (the use of hotel's staircases?) or at usual times. 5/ Walkability: Great! 6/ Food and drinks: Wide range of cuisine and pricing around the hotel. Room service menu needs periodic updates, rather than staying the same all the time. 7/ Noteworthy details: Spending at the spa cannot accumulate Accor points, which is a huge discount and lacks incentive for getting spa treatments.

Great stay at hotel. Got a room upgrade at check in thanks to Sujin. Room was spacious and the hotel facilities are very nice and modern. Indoor pool and gym are excellent with great views from 16 floor. Hotel conveniently close to Lotte World shopping centre.

This stay fell materially short of expectations and Accor’s stated service standards. Despite booking with full breakfast, I was informed at check-in that only lounge breakfast was available. This limitation was neither clearly communicated at booking nor aligned with the rate paid. As a Diamond member and Accor Plus subscriber, there was no acknowledgment of status, no upgrade, and no recognition of loyalty. The lounge check-in experience was unacceptable. The staff member who handled my check-in displayed a dismissive and unwelcoming attitude. This is my second stay at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences, and the same individual checked me in on both occasions, with the same poor experience each time. This reflects a consistent service issue, not an isolated incident. Turndown service was explicitly requested during check-in, yet it was not delivered on either night. Lounge service overall was substandard; comparable Level 6 service in other properties is notably better. The “Ambassador” designation is not supported by the service delivered at this property. A serious review of leadership, lounge operations, and service culture is necessary. Regrettably, this will be my final stay here.

We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and especially we did not meet our SOFITEL’s high service standards. Under our internal policies, I am afraid we usually never provide an upgrade from Prestige Suite to Opera Suite as these large suites have a limited inventory. As for the breakfast, it does come with the breakfast in Club Millesime which offers a panoramic view of our vicinity. However, as a Diamond guest and in consideration of this was your second visit, we should have demonstrated more flexibility and perhaps proposed the Fait Maison option on this occasion. In addition, we acknowledge that your status should have been better recognized. Also, we do of course offer turn-down service, and it is our standard practice to ask guests about the turndown service with preferred time. However, on this occasion, it appears that the communication regarding this, was not handled clearly, so it resulted in inconvenience to you. I sincerely apologize for this and will reinforce staff training to ensure this does not happen again. Most importantly, your comments regarding the staff’s service are the most difficult part of your feedback for me among all your comments because service is something I personally most valued to. Guests holding Diamond tier and those who booked with Club Millésime are regarded as our most valued VIPs in our hotel. Therefore, we expect all team members to provide an especially high level of care, attention to detail, and personalized service. But hearing these comments from you is deeply disappointing for me as well, so that I once again sincerely apologize that we failed to deliver the experience you deserved. I was truly sorry to read that you do not intend to return, and it is also very unfortunate for us. As you might to visit Seoul again in the future and if so, I believe that you will continue to stay with Accor. So, I hope you might consider staying with us once more. If we are having another opportunity to welcome you back, I will personally take special care of your stay from pre-arrival through the whole of your stay. Of course our entire team also will make every effort to enrich your experience. I sincerely hope we may have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.
