The lady who checked us in was very helpful and gave good suggestions when we asked about dinner recommendations. The room was clean, but not enough towels were provided, although that was easily fixed. The complimentary Tunnock's Tea cake was a nice touch. The shower pressure was decent too - often times hotel showers can be quite weak and a bit too cold, but I was impressed with this shower. Breakfast was the only problem - there were a limited number of tables and unfortunately those that were suitable for our party size were dirty (needed plates and cutlery to be cleared away), or were already occupied. I appreciate that it was a busy time of day, but there was one table designed for 6 people that had just one man sat at it, and another similar sized table with just two people. It would be better if staff sat people to avoid that problem. Aside from that, breakfast was very tasty and there was a good selection for a Scottish breakfast - myself and my companions were well fed! Check-out was smooth and simple. I'd definitely be happy to stay again.

Staff were incredible, the free drink for refusing room service is genius, and overall a great time. I also love that the room had 4 different levels of firmness pillows. I'm not sure if that was intentional but amazing for letting me find the perfect one. My only feedback is the mattress, it was a little lopsided from overuse on one side. I compensated by getting a second duvet and sleeping on that folded in half so it wasn't a deal breaker.
