As first impressions go,we were well impressed with the service offered by the check in staff Mr S ( apologies we forgot to write down his name). He was ever so friendly and helpful truly is the image of what five star customer service is. However as mentioned in the title,we expected more from the Fairmont.
When we came down to relax by the pool, we were shocked to see plates of food / glasses and used towels not cleared up by pool staff . In spite of asking the pool staff if any sun loungers were available they made no effort to help.
What made matters worse was that a group of young men and two women were playing music out of a giant loud speaker, drinking wine from a bottle which really lowered the tone of a five star hotel.
In spite of guest complaining to the pool staff it took over 30 mins for hotel management to come over and tell the group to tone it down.
We found this experience extremely stressful especially as we noticed a couple and a family walk away from the pool area with a sense of fear instead of enjoying themselves.
Additionally,there was a shortage of towels and the toilets beside the spa/ indoor pool were not even cleaned and this happened on both days we visited the pools.
The breakfast however was delicious and the staff were ever so polite.
Overall,it's just that the pool and spa facilities which people come to enjoy is what let us down .

I,m a returning guest and my first stay at fairmont was excellent.during this stay with my family across 3 rooms, one room had a dirty carpet with stains and an unpleasant odour. Although we raised a complaint and the staff made an effort, the issue persisted overnight. I was hoping for the same standards as my previous visit.

As a diamond member I Had a wonderful stay at Fairmont Baku Flame Towers.

Had a wonderful stay at the Fairmont Baku. The team looked after us very well and was very courteous and accommodating. The room was very spacious and well appointed with a breathtaking sea view. The couples spa experience was one of the best we've had. The pool, spa, club, bar and other facilities were also top notch. The team was also kind enough to give us a liberal late checkout which enabled us to rest well before our flight. Overall, one of the best 5 star stay experience we have had internationally. Definitely recommend staying or ending your trip to Azerbaijan with a stay at this property.
