Loved all the activities and things to do. Recent renovations make the rooms very nice. Food options were ok for Sunday brunch but for the price there should be a lot more options.

We were a large group of 7 adults and three children ranging in age from 4 to 12 years. There was so much to do on site that we were never bored, but when tired we could all enjoy some much needed down time by the wonderful fireplace in the lobby. Our group ate all meals in either the main dining room or the Bistro. Our meals in the main area were wonderful with lots of choices. The only downside were the two meals at the Bistro restaurant. The food took forever to come, and when it did three meals were completely forgotten about. After apologies we were told a tea and three soft drinks would be free. Our group did have to laugh at that. We had to go a second night as fully booked upstairs and sad to say-no better. Would have driven to town, but restaurants booked there too for the evening (could see why). All in all a wonderful getaway in a beautiful hotel with one good restaurant in the main dining area. Would all go back, but book some meals off site (ahead) after this.

The Kids experience has diminished. There used to be more kids activities in the basement (a bouncy castle, etc.). These were big hits with my kids in the past and they were disappointed with the small kids room now available.

We (2 adults and 1 child) spent a long weekend at Fairmont and are very satisfied. Very friendly staff, lots of fun outdoor and indoor activities. We booked a room with jacuzzi, they are located on first floor with very little natural light. Next time we will book a room higher up in the building. Food was good, a bit tired of buffet at the end of the stay but very high quality of the food. We are definitely coming back!!

I purchased an upgraded package to included Dinner and breakfast. We were disappointed that we our arrival time of 10:20 am on Sunday morning was met by a closed restaurant, as staff prepared for Sunday brunch. It would have been nice to have been informed about this as we would have been more diligent about our arrival time.

Beautiful location. Great choice of outdoor activities. Lobby bar left a lot to be desired, as did the tables littered with rubbish and ripped cushions on the couch by the fire, the lacklustre wine list, and the games room for kids that was not working. We love staying at Fairmont properties and have come to expect a certain standard consistent across the brand, and sadly neither my partner or I felt that Montebello upheld the standard we have come to appreciate and expect.

It was yet another lovely, relaxing, winter getaway week-end for my husband & me (our 14th winter one). We love the whole atmosphere at the Château Montebello during the Canadian Ski Marathon week-end. I also thoroughly enjoy seeing Bello faithfully following his mother around the lobby. The cuisine is utterly delicious, we enjoy the hot tub (& getting there through the tunnel again) and the gorgeous lobby is incomparable!

Great staff and service, the activity options for the resort fee were excellent. The food was outstanding! The only negative was the heating in the room, it did not seem to work and we found the room chilly.

Lovely property. Great welcome from concierge staff and reception. Lovely room and beautifully cleaned by Claudia. However we felt the F & B dept let you down. We booked a half board package but felt we were second class guests in the restaurant (eg we weren’t allowed a macchiato - is it really so much more expensive?). We didn’t choose the package as a cheap option but for convenience We love Fairmont Hitels but felt the F& B dept not as good as other Fairmont's we have stayed in. Also when we came down to dinner there was no one at the desk and we were unsure what was going on. The bar was often unmanned as well. Good breakfast. Curling lesson great fun with nice teacher. GreT woodland trails and had fun criss country skiing for the first time.

Great stay overall in a fantastic setting but was served food by room service with a ingredient - shiitake mushrooms - which I had specifically advised them I was allergic to.

We enjoyed your one-night stay. What a beautiful structure with a long and rich history. Our only disappointment was our reserved dinner table location. We were seated by the windows that were so drafty we should have left our winter coats on. We were very satisfied with everything else.

Nice but needs maintenance

Great room, but it needs maintenance, especially so at that price point. The chain lock for the door was missing, in the closet there is a piece falling down, multiple areas where paint touchups are needed. I was upsold to what was a higher grade room, can imagine what the $75 cheaper room would have been like. Surprisingly, no slippers provided. Bathrobes were not one size fits all as they were too small for me, size 44. Great service from bar in great room, and even better service and food in bistro.

Stayed one night. Check-in was fine. Although touted as "renovated", the room is still sub-par compared to competition for the price paid. Bed is quite used (we sank into the middle). The walls are thin (heard the guy next door belch and fart). Food was way too pricey to eat on premises (silver lining was that it allowed us to find a couple of gems just down the street). If we were to end there, this would have been a 2 or 3 rating at best. But the activities outside of the main lodge help bring up the score. We took advantage of the extensive network of cross-country ski trails and also enjoyed the huge pool. The gym is a decent size. Problem was the machines were malfunctioning. Not one treadmill had both the machine and television working at the same time. Again, for the price ... unacceptable. So all in all, there were some highs in the experience but the lows were too low for an almost $500 night.
