comfortable and relaxing stay. friendly and helpful staff. food was great apart from one dish which really just came down to an overly fatty piece of meat. Attention to detail at aux chantignoles could be slightly improved. Stained napkin, missing cutlery, dirty wine glasses. Apart from these very minor things, we had a wonderful experience overall.

It is always a joy to stay at The Chateau Montebello, what a treasure! We enjoy the colder months most with the fireplaces in the main lobby all lit but the hotel and grounds are beautiful in all seasons. One of the strong points of the Chateau M is the staff, particularly the restaurant staff and especially the older servers who always have a smile and a cheery greeting and are highly knowledgable and very efficient. Since we are speaking of the restaurant, the breakfast buffet is the finest we have ever experienced in any hotel or resort in any country, anywhere.

I stayed 2 nights, I had paid for a luxury queen room . First night I was given a very small room where the sound from the fan next door was very loud all night long, making it difficult to sleep .When I raised the issue, I was told nothing could be done about it but to ask for a room change the next day. When I asked the following day, the supervisor kindly upgraded me to a much better and significantly quieter room for the second night, which I appreciated. However, this does not make up for the poor experience of the first night, especially given the price and expectations of a “luxury" room. There were also some general issues: instructions regarding the Wi-Fi password and room amenities were missing at check-in and I had to call the desk to ask, and overall cleanliness was below what I would expect. While the staff were helpful in resolving the issue for the second night, the initial experience and lack of basic standards were disappointing.

I had mistakenly booked at this Fairmont instead of the Fairmont in Ottawa. I west to the Fairmont in Ottawa and they told me that they were fully booked. I had my assistant call to see if I could cancel my reservation due to the location being on e hour from Ottawa. Unfortunately, I was told they couldn't get a hold of anyone at the hotel. So I went to Montebello taking the one hour car ride only to find out once I arrived that my request to cancel had been granted. It was very confusing.
