We visited Chateau Montebello by boat, back in 2019. We stayed on our boat in the marina, but resolved to come back some winter for a short stay. We did that a couple weeks ago. It's a one-of- a-kind place. Quite pricey, but worth a visit. Restaurant is good, but not great. There are better options in the village. Breakfast buffet is ok, but ordering off the menu is a better value. Nice variety of x country ski trails. Heated indoor pool is nice.

I was there for a staff retreat, which went well, and I particularly enjoyed the environment outdoor. The gathering around the bonfire and curling were both highlights of my stay.

Lovely Hotel - lacking in customer service in some areas and lacking vegan food

We enjoyed our time at the hotel but we we were disappointed in the lack of substantial vegan food options (for example only one option on the dinner menu) and while the menu says the staff can help make options vegan there was literally no support or understanding on what I was talking about. That made it disappointing and our whole family is vegan. Room Service was available but when our orders came there was no cutlery delivered, no food that was ordered - just the drinks. So not great. Finally, when there were extra charges on our bill we could not get a straight answers from the front desk as to what they were for, then they said I had to leave a message with accounts receivable and I still have not received a phone call back to explain what happened. Poor customer service.

We had to reach out to the front desk/royal service many times and still did not getting our heating issues resolved.our room was 17-18 degrees for most of our stay. We had to ask for several extra blankets and had a neighbour who was smoking marijuana all day. Royal service came several times and sprayed perfume only adding to the aroma. We also did not receive our welcome gift despite calling and inquiring at the desk several times. We had no body wash in our shower and when asking for more they gave us 1 small bottle each time. Definitely not the fairmont service we have been accustomed to.
