It has been long that we wanted to stay in this Fairmont hotel in Ottawa and the hotel have proven that we didn't make the wrong choice. Overall the stay and service is very pleasant, staff are attentive and although there has been some hick-ups on the luggage handling during the check-in process, it didn't affect the overall experience in such a historical Fairmont hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Laurier. While Wilfred's restaurant was closed for renovation and the pool was also closed for maintenance, we enjoyed the complementary room upgrade we were given instead. The scenery from our corner deluxe king room with two views was much appreciated.

On arrival, marijuana filled the hall of my room location and I aired out my room. The same issue occured on my last visit and the issue happened daily. This simply must be addressed as I am a nonsmoker and also don't wish to be subject to inhaling the drug! Service requests toook up to 60 minutes for any ask. 1st day - arrived 1001am and was denied breakfast, 2nd day - no reservation, no breakfast. Ate at the Westin - quite a tragic outcome! Service has fallen - EXCEPT housekeeping was impeccable and to be commended. Both from cleanliness but also from friendliness

This is a truly amazing and beautifully preserved property. Historic but up to date with modern amenities. Extremely comfortable bed. Great location within walking distance of most downtown activities and parks. Professional, helpful, and friendly service. Immaculately clean. Nice restaurants with good food, especially breakfast. Relaxing cocktail bar with lovely atmosphere and tasty cocktails. Really this hotel has it all. Highly recommended. I will stay here again when next in Ottawa.
