Some things however need to be chmaged: staff in front of zoe’s are quite unprofessional (asking many times who you are within only a few mins, plus let you wait despite waiting times exceed ipening hours for breakfast).
What was extremely unpleasant is that at emilies a bund if influencers were so intrusive that I nearly left the restaurant without paying. Shovking was not that these rude people did i (unfortunately a sign of today’s rotten society), but rather that no staff bothered…

This is an absolutely fantastic hotel! The history of the hotel alone is worth staying for, and the location in Ottawa can’t be beat. I honestly would recommend adding Ottawa to any Canada itinerary just to stay here. Truly impressive!

It was not great. We were looking forward to a splurge night at a beautiful hotel and it turned out to be pretty awful when we arrived. We had to circle the hotel twice because the line to park was way down the road by the time we got in it was an hour later we valet parked, went inside the room we received was a very big disappointment. It was two beds in a very tiny tiny room I have a mobility scooter which barely fits in and on top of that could not get by to go to the bathroom when it was parked in there,that was pretty awful. the next morning we had made a reservation on the telephone as the girl in reception requested we do , when we arrive downstairs there was no record of my call. We had to wait over 45 minutes. We are vegetarian and they were very few options. So the extra money we spent for the bed and breakfast was pretty much a waste on top of having to wait so long. All in all it really wasn’t the experience we were looking for. It was pretty disappointing.

Very long wait to check in. Very long wait to get seated for breakfast even with reservation. We checked in on the 4th floor, and I found the attendant somewhat rude....He told us that decent attire was required for the lounge...no housecoats...duh...then he looked at my feet and said no sandals! I could not believe it....I was not dressed like a slob, but I let it go. Went to our room and I put on other shoes....only to find that every woman in the place had on sandals! I also had to ask for extra pillows twice, since the ones we had were pretty flat. I know that there is a pillow menu, but we were not offered that. We stayed there last year and it was fabulous. This time around, the vibe was not good right from the start.

Overall, our stay was good but I was surprised at some of the smaller details missing which seemed out of character for Fairmont. Having stayed in a dozen other Fairmont properties across Canada and the UK I found some of the room standards to be below my expectations.

The place is well located and the common space are lovely, but the rooms are very small and dated. Towels and bed sheets need a refresh too. Not great value for the price.

The hotel was clean; the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The hotel is situated close (walking distance)to many nice restaurants and businesses.
It's a shame that the hotel does not offer more amenities. You have to pay for WiFi and parking. Breakfast is also available but for an additional fee.

The person next door could be heard easily thru the connecting door which was not sealed. This was disruptive. I requested 2 double beds but instead was “upgraded” to a king and sofa bed. This was not appreciated as the sofa bed was not comfortable

I was quite disappointed with my stay at Fairmont Ottawa. I have stayed at Fairmont properties across Canada about four or five times, so I had certain expectations based on my previous experiences, but unfortunately this stay did not meet them.
Parking was not available, and we were simply told that it was full. We ended up having to park at the Westin and walk back and forth, which was very inconvenient and took away from the experience.
The room itself was okay, but the shower curtain in the washroom had a strong damp, musty smell, which was really unpleasant and not something I would expect from a Fairmont property.
The service was also disappointing. I ordered Orange Pekoe tea twice, and both times I was brought something different. Overall, the staff seemed rushed and not particularly helpful or attentive.
Given my previous positive experiences with Fairmont across Canada, this stay was not what I expected. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, especially regarding cleanliness, parking arrangements, and service.
