Spectacular Tremblant

Customer review rating 4.5/5

Tyler M. Families - 24/07/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

Fairmont Tremblant is beautifully situated at the base of Tremblant. Easy access to all activities and amenities offered at base of mountain. Tons of fun activities in the summer. The pool is beautiful, feels like a resort with the poolside bar and service. Staff were very helpful and accommodating everything felt very clean and safe during COVID.

I don't think the hotel was fully prepared for this most recent opening during Covid.

It was very difficult trying to check in as there was limited parking space in front of the hotel There was no hotel parking which meant I had to leave my wife at the hotel and find one of two underground parking garages that were suggested to me. My wife has a painful leg and she had standing leaning on a table for support as there were no chairs in lobby.

Service was responsive, friendly and accommodating.

Limits to what we can do during covid but the room was clean, and service was excellent. We wanted room service and were disappointed about the process. Did not receive appropriate cutlery from Terrasse and it seemed like the whole process was disconnected from the hotel.

Not good Charged me more than they said they would, I had a gift card for 250$s but they reimbursed only 235. I can’t understand why? No explanation was given

Friendly, clean, excellent service.

The staff was first class, as always. The inconvenience of having to park in the back and then come around to the front door is a huge pain - especially when you have bags (whether they be from luggage on arrival or shopping during your visit). It was the same issue last time I stayed - I had suggested to someone then that they should find a way of having a staffed guest entrance from the parking directly into the hotel. I know you can drive through the breezeway and drop off bags but the breezeway is often packed (especially close to check in time) and it’s not always convenient to do so.

loved the experience, I didn't realize the restaurant was opened until I left, the room needs some reno so I wasn't super impressed, the galleries and stores were unfortunately closed so I didn't feel the experience that I was seeking. great customer service.

Over priced and under delivered

The room smelled like second hand smoke and the bathroom smelled mouldy. The view out the window was very boring, why isn't there a garden instead of a brick roof? I expected more for the price I paid.

Not the first time we have stayed at Laurier. Booked King room parliament/canal view, $294 plus plus. Last night of a 7 day trip east, this room was not renovated, nothing wrong with the view, the bed was beyond awful for comfort, seemed like the mattress was totally done, sagged to a hole in the middle, my husband slept on one edge and I tried to sleep on the other edge. Woke Saturday morning with a very sore back and 6 days later am still suffering after attending osteopath on Monday morning. Upon check out my husband did inform the desk clerk of this situation, that in his 70 years of travel never slept in a worse bed. Manager needs to inspect the room, both bathroom doors did not close either not that it mattered to us but just seemed the room was very tired, didn't need 2 bathrooms but would have loved a firm comfortable mattress. Other times we stayed here the rooms and beds were lovely so beyond disappointed on this visit. Room number was 212.

No parking, room not ready, order king bed got queen, cable didn’t work, giant puddle in bedroom heath hazard, asked to speak to manager and didn’t call us.

1) Complete disaster upon finding out there was zero parking available at Hotel, many angry patrons using bad language directed at the poor Bell Boys. This information MUST be offered when booking a stay there ahead of time. The streets were packed and with 1 way traffic, trying to find a suitable lot was a challenge. Many were closed or full. Had to find a lot and walk 15 hot minutes to get to Hotel. Again, If I had known I would have made easier arrangements. 2) My dinner reservation at La Terrasse was “lost”….thankfully I had gone to check on it hours before and was able to get a seating. 3) We had friends who wanted to join us for dinner and I had called LT directly the day before and was told that restaurant was packed……this was not the case as it was 2/3 busy at best and every table was a “4” seater so our friends could have easily joined. 4) Upon arrival in room, noticed the AC was not working. Multiple calls to front desk went unanswered. Had to go to front desk and was happily given a new room (well done Viktoria) 5) Our meal at La Terrasse was excellent but as an FYI, our server was very inexperienced but made up for it in hustle and politeness. It was clear she had very little experience opening a bottle of wine, she struggled with it and then ultimately took out cork and left in on the table with the wrapper still on in shredded pieces which I removed myself. Bad first experience post Covid

Not as expected.

I had asked for higher level rooms with a view of the Parliament building and paid for that when I spoke to the reservations desk the day before arriving at the hotel - when I got to the hotel (mid-afternoon the next day) I was given low level rooms (3rd floor) and was told there were no longer any higher level rooms available - despite my conversation with reservations not more than 18 hours prior. Second, when I got to the hotel I was told there was no valet service and the hotel parking was full. I can understand curtailing valet services during COVID - however it is unfathomable that the hotel will not reserve spots for its own hotel guests to park - rather allowing non-hotel guest to park as a priority and directing hotel guests to park at neighboring buildings - certainly not what I would have expected from customer service at a Fairmont. The hotel had valet spots at one point - why would they not allocate those to the paying hotel guests who arrive by car. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Great location, beautiful room but missing the details.

I booked the room well in advance over the telephone. Two weeks before the stay I checked the rates online and they were cheaper so I rang, after I spoke with a couple of people finally I was put through a really nice guy from reception, he offered me the same rate but with breakfast included so I was very happy about it. We were travelling with the kids so I asked if they would get breakfast as well and he confirmed they would. Just a couple of days before the stay I received one of your emails saying that breakfast could be served in the terrace and that I had to book through opentable, I found that a bit strange so I rang to confirm, they told me that I was correct and to go ahead. It was a surprise to my husband for our wedding anniversary (he worked in the past in the Fairmont Singapore as Front of house manager) and the lady in reception made me feel so embarrassad: first I asked about the breakfast and reservation in the terrace, she said that that breakfast was usually in the room as it was part of the package (why?) and that she would ask, then I wanted to make sure the kids were getting breakfast and she said no, I explain the situation and she went to ask, I had to wait a good few minutes for her to comeback and said that was a mistake from the person who offered over the telephone but that she would put a note for this time (like if she was doing me a great favour). When we left and I went to check out guess what was on our bill, THE BREAKFAST, I had to explain myself again for the receptionist to take it out... He apologised. I was dissapointed...

Excellent location.

Excellent staff & location. Due to COVID restrictions services were restricted. Room had a beautiful view of parliament & Rideau canal however the furniture was very worn & the king bed we requested was smaller than normal for my tall husband. Remodel definitely needed.

Great service in the Terrase, terrific wait staff. I reserved a Fairmount room for my 10th anniversary, Spent 25 minutes arranging this on the phone. Very disappointed at check in to discover none of the details showed up on my reservation. Front desk sorted it out kudos to them. I made my original reservation by calling in to the central number for Fairmount.

My girlfriend and I recently had a staycation in Ottawa and spent 2 nights in the hotel. It was awesome from check in to check out. We enjoyed an evening on the patio with views of the Ottawa river and Parliament Hill.

We have been faithful customers of the Fairmont Brand and in particular The Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. We were married there in the Hays Suite and have since celebrated milestone birthdays and anniversaries including friends and family. Now for our recent experience: For our wedding anniversary this year we booked a room for one night and dinner reservations on the patio. At the time of reservation we informed the Hotel that it was for a special occasion, our wedding anniversary: First disappointment: No Valet or underground parking. A lot at the back of the patio was "first come first served" with no security whatsoever. It was suggested that we use an underground parking in adjacent building pulling our suitcases behind us. The check in was very good with a "welcome back" welcome. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and was pleased to add that there was something waiting for us in the room . He again wished us a Happy Anniversary. To our delight, there was a bottle of red wine along with a bouquet of roses in the room. Wow. Not long after we were in the room and had poured ourselves a glass of wine, the phone rang He identified himself as Jean Pierre and wanted to know if we were in the room. A few moments later he came to the door and announced that there had been a mistake and that the roses and the wine were not for us but "for a couple with our same names and anniversary date ??????. He asked for the roses back and seemed miffed that we had taken some of the wine. Before leaving, he stated that there had been a card with the roses and he wanted that back too. My wife had saved it in her purse and had to remove the card and give it back.....very embarrassing to be sure. I called the front desk and asked for the duty manager to get some kind of explanation. To my astonishment he was already aware of the situation and repeated the improbable story that there was a second couple with the identical name also celebrating a wedding anniversary. The bottom line is that I would expect such treatment from a second rate hotel but never from The Chateau Laurier. Oh well, our friends and family find the story quite astonishing also. Gauche at best...

Donna M Couples - 17/12/2017 TripAdvisor review

The Chateau Laurier is a gorgeous building from the outside and in the lobby. But besides that, it's pretty ordinary. The room is pretty basic, absolutely nothing special about it at all. Considering how much we paid for the room, I was not impressed. In addition, the only reason we stayed there was because I am a Accor Silver member. This hotel is not yet fully an Accor hotel, so we did not get any of the perks we are meant to get as silver members so I was not impressed at all. This was very misleading on Accor's part on their website. We were hoping for a very nice evening and we were not impressed. We decided to dine elsewhere.

Dear Donna, We regret not meeting your expectations on this occasion. We do hope you return one day, thereby allowing us the opportunity to gain your trust and loyalty. Sincerely, Claude J. Sauvé General Manager
