Overall, our experience was great. The hotel is beautifully located, rooms and areas throughout the hotel are nicely up to date and well maintained, and service was attentive and warm. We also had a wonderful experience with the guided hike. Kevin was a great guide. The 2 small pieces of feedback I would offer are: 1) the food quality was OK, but I would hope, especially because there is nothing else in the area, that it would be more than OK. The options available were plentiful, but it was the execution that left something to be desired. As an example, at breakfast, my benedict came out with the english muffin toasted to a perfect golden, but my husband's looked as if it was not toasted at all. Also, even though we ordered the eggs at a standard medium, all 4 eggs varied wildly in how they were cooked. Another example was at Walliser Stube. We ordered the pork schnitzel. The breading was nice and crispy, but the pork itself was not seasoned and dry. It very much needed the sauce it came with. 2) before arriving, the email correspondence with the concierge was a bit slower than I would expect. The responses were clear and helpful, but some responses took more than 24 hours to receive.
