Little cold in the room

The Ibis/Novotel combo really doesn't work, as you just feel like a poor guests among the rich - and the Novotel guests must also feel similarly out of place. In reality most of the clientele were on coach tours. The hotel bar and restaurant was pitched for the Novotel market, but it didn't look very inviting. Management do clearly want to preserve the distiction between the two brands, with separate floors and even a separate Ibis breakfast which compared badly to other 'stand alone' Ibis hotels. The rooms were alright - standard Ibis, but I've seen better. Staff were absolutely lovely - no complaints at all there. But the dual-use hotel concept didn't do it for me.

With regard to breakfast, we would like to kindly clarify that the offer in both hotels follows the brand standardization, which defines the range and presentation of products. Nevertheless, we regret that the experience did not meet your expectations and we have shared your comments with the management team for further review. Your remarks concerning the bar and restaurant have also been carefully noted. There was a strong chemical smell in the room. Some cleaning products or something. We couldn't breath for the first 24 hours. We couldn't open a window. NO FRESH OXIGIN in the room! We had to sit there with the door open.

We also regret that the issue was not reported to our team during your three‑day stay. Had we been informed, we would have been able to react immediately by offering a different room or taking additional steps to improve the conditions. Our priority is always to ensure that our guests feel comfortable from the very beginning of their stay. We would also like to inform you that we are currently planning a modernisation of the hotel, and part of this project includes replacing the windows with new ones that can be fully opened, which will significantly improve ventilation and overall comfort.
