ibis Riga Centre 3 stars

I can only say I wish I’d read the reviews before staying in this hotel as I would certainly have stayed elsewhere Every item I’ve had an issue with so far is listed by tonnes of other people going back a number of years. The hotels responses attempt to fob people off when the reality is they CHOOSE to do NOTHING about the issues so many people continue to report I’ll start with the good (as there aren’t many) the location is really handy for the number 22 bus from the airport 5 mins walk away there is a walking path although it may seem like it’s up and down stairs to subways which isn’t ideal with luggage. People mention the shopping centre across the road which is modern but it has more empty shops than full and is only really good for the supermarket that opens late Now on to the negatives 1. Noise - you cannot take two steps inside this hotel without freaking floorboards that are annoying to walk over never mind listen to as people walk past your room. The hotel could do something about this 2. Corridors the hotel is a maze of dark corridors that only put lights on once your actually in the dark bit. I get this is to save energy but your putting people at risk of falling by leaving pitch black corridors to save a bit of money. No windows in any of these corridors. The hotel could do something about this 3. My room looks nothing like the pictures on the website - couldn’t swing a cat in it, no kettle, no safe, rubbish water pressure. There isn’t even enough space to leave a suitcase open. Only one side of the bed has a bedside table which is really poor. The lighting is awful with wires to lights down walls , same with tv which has a pathetic choice of channels and not even a decent English speaking news channel. I had to keep the curtains closed as another corridor could see right into the room and it should have had net curtains 4. Bedding - this is the second ibis hotel I’ve stayed at in Eastern Europe where the pillows were absolutely pathetic, so thin, no support at all and only one for each side of the bed is a disgrace. Even staying alone I found it a poor nights sleep with even two totally flat pillows. The hotel could do something about this 5. Towels - only ONE large towel and ONE small that were like using sandpaper and had clearly been washed way too many times that they need thrown in the bin in replaced. The hotel can do something about this This hotel has damaged my view of the whole Accor brand and id certainly not recommend anyone to stay here

Took to this place like a duck to water. Six nights at an excellent price - so much so that I had a night in Vilnius without bothering to check-out, and check-in again. The room was small - but clean, with immaculate bed sheets and towels. Lovely shower with removable shower head. Gorgeous smell from the hair and body gel. Nice desk area and the window could be opened to provide plenty of fresh air. On a personal level - the location of the hotel was excellent. Railway station was very close and a shopping centre as well. Not too close however, to have any impact with regards to noise. Staff, fine on the whole - with just an odd bad apple in the orchard. I wouldn't hesitate to go back here.

The hotel is located close to center. The room was rather small, but clean and ok. I was on business trip, and the room had a space for working on my laptop. The breakfast was not more than ok, on the ground floor without windows. Friendly staff at the front desk.

I stayed at Ibis Riga for 2 nights. My room was a good size, and staff were accommodating and friendly. Fairly close to old town.

The hotel is in a good location and staff are very friendly. Hotel looks nice, rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok. For the price it could be better.
