The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was quite large and comfortable, although I expected the room to be a bit bigger. The only downsides were the TV not having any other streaming services other than Netflix and the AC didn’t really seem to be working or was working poorly

The room was spacious and comfortable however lacking in any kind of personality despite how beautiful the original building is. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. The milk capsules in the fridge were sour and we had to request more. The renovation has ensured everything is bland. The front desk staff were lovely but did not know the answers to many simple questions. Taxis cannot pull up immediately in front of the hotel as it’s in a government controlled area. The pool and sauna were nice but reception couldn’t even tell us if towels were available. They were! Light broken in the ladies changing room shower. Finally breakfast. On first sight the buffet looks great. However, the food is obviously laid out early in the morning and not covered. Consequently bread and pastries were hard, sauces had developed a skin on them. Hot food was barely tepid. We complained about this 3 times to 3 different people both in the restaurant and at reception but it made no difference. You could also order hot food such as omelettes and eggs benedict – this did come a bit hotter but two days running the hollandaise on the eggs benedict was tepid and curdled. To be honest, we were expecting a lot better from this hotel. There are so many hotels in Riga to choose from so this will not be one I would return to or recommend.

We are pleased to hear that you found the room spacious and comfortable, as well as enjoying the pool and sauna facilities. However, we are sorry that the overall atmosphere of the room did not reflect the character of our historic building as you had hoped. Your comments regarding the minibar milk capsules and the need to request replacements are noted, and this should not have happened. While we are glad that you found our front desk team friendly, we sincerely apologize that they were unable to answer basic questions regarding hotel services, including pool towels. This indicates a training gap which we are addressing. Thank you as well for reporting the broken light in the ladies’ changing room shower — this has been shared with our maintenance team. Regarding access to the hotel, you are correct that taxis cannot stop directly in front of the entrance due to its location within a government-controlled area. We are especially disappointed to read about your breakfast experience. Although the buffet may look appealing at first sight, the issues you described concerning freshness, temperature, and food quality are unacceptable and do not meet Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel standards. We are particularly concerned that despite raising these matters multiple times with both restaurant and reception staff, no corrective action was taken. Your comments regarding uncovered buffet items, tepid hot dishes, and the eggs benedict — including the hollandaise sauce — have been shared with our kitchen and restaurant management for immediate review. We fully understand your disappointment and regret that we did not deliver the experience you were expecting.
