Overall good stay, pleasant staff, very central location and comfortable room. Breakfast offer was excellent

We had a perfect stay in Mercure Madrid Centro. The hotel has a refurbishment which makes the hotel a very good value for money. Breakfast is also good, with a wide choice of food. Staff is a gem in the hotel. The reception team was very profesional, helpfull and friendly. We will gladly come back.

As always welcoming place which i have used for more than 20 years now, seeing management come and go. It has maintained its standards but without standing still

No internet on the highest floor (7th if I'm not mistaken). It's a huge problem cause I work remotely and have video calls sometimes. One guy finally invited me to the conference room where internet connection was good but cmon, it's 2023 and stable connection is not a whim, I can expect it and it's much more needed than welcoming drink. Also we paid in advance for the room and the receptionist still asked us for a credit card number. I wasn't very enthusiastic about it and she explained it was necessary in case of we destroyed the room/stole sth. Like, seriously? We have a golden membership, stayed I don't know how many times at accor hotels and we are still treated like potential thieves.
