MISLEADING and BAD experience

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

They call themselves "Mercure Airport" but that is far from the airport. If you need to go there and take a taxi it is about €30 (rigged and rip off) 6km away. Apart from that it's poor service and overall bad experience. Completely overrated and a rip off. Stay away from this place. They call themselves "airport hotel" to MISLEAD people.

Dirty old tired and noisy

Dirty, old, tired and noisy. I stayed at this hotel while on a business trip and it was a wholly underwhelming experience. I checked in and went to my room. The first thing I noticed was that the bed wasn't made up and then it became obvious that the room had not been cleaned after the previous guests checked out. On return to reception I was given another room that seemed fine until the evening time when I realised it was above the bar and the windows were paper thin so the noise of the bar and music kept me awake. The following morning I asked to be moved yet again and was put to the front of the hotel which seemed fine until about midnight when a nightclub across the parking area kicked in until the early hours of the morning (note the nightclub was not affiliated with the hotel). The gym was very tired with some equipment broken all old and the heaviest dumbbell weights were just 5kg. The swimming pool and Padel court seemed in good condition. Overall the hotel is in dire need of a renovation (not the staffs fault) as it's just tired and worn out in a lot of places. Something the staff could do better is the general cleanliness of the hotel (rooms and common areas).

Very unpleasant experience. First I was given a room that heavily smelled tobacco. I was changed to one that didn't have a king size bed but two tiny beds. Also smelled bad. The AC was noisy and opening the window was an even noisier alternative. Room was dirty (hair in the shower, a bottle cap under the bed, etc) Bed sheets were old and stained. One of the worse experiences at a hotel ever. Staff was friendly and tried to help, but the moment I realize the hotel was not good I gave up trying. As for location, although it's very close to the airport, it does not make a lot of sense to stay there. If you are coming from Rome or from any other point in Italy by train, you will have to either take a cab to the hotel or go to the airport and then get the hotel's shuttle (for a fee and not available late at night) After that you'll have to pay the shuttle back to the airport. If you land at FCO and from there you will go elsewhere in train, same. You're better off staying in Rome. And even if you do have a car and you will return the car at the airport, since the hotel charges for parking, you're better off staying in Rome, having a nice dinner, leaving your car at a centrally located parking lot and driving to FCO 3 hours before your flight. This hotel is too expensive for what it provides and in this city's particular case, given that the train Station is far from the airport, I see little value on staying there. avoid if you can

Convenient and practical

Stayed here for one night before boarding a cruise from Civitavecchia, so not much to say except that our room faced a car park which appears to belong to the hotel but there was a congregation of youths until very early in the morning (around 2am) making quite a lot of noise, playing music and drinking. I'm sure some hotel staff would have heard so a bit surprised they carried on until so late. The other slight annoyance was the Wi-Fi not working but for a night only it wasn't a showstopper. That aside, the room was modern and fresh but the communal areas could do with the same. Staff were courteous and helpful in printing a couple of documents and organising a taxi very quickly. The only thing they could have done better was to inform us when the last shuttle was from the airport was, as we emailed to ask for info ahead of arriving. The email however included other useful info!

Stayed here,as we didn't want to travel too far when arriving at the airport late. Airport shuttle is convenient, but directions to find where to get it are difficult for someone never in Rome airport before. Checkin was really easy and very pleasant staff. Room was comfortable, but no mini bar so make sure you have brought drinks (there was water in the fridge). Our room was missing coffee cups and there was no milk, so while there was a kettle you need to check it is stocked before starting to boil water. There are no powerpoints next to the bed (I use a CPAP, so couldn't for the night, although sure I could have called to ask for an extension cord). Breakfast in the restaurant wasn't nice. Staff were fine, but it was so cold it was almost like they forgot to turn the bain marie on. That said the pastries were all pretty good. Standard checkout is apparently 12, so was good from that perspective. There is a great looking pool, but we didn't have time to use it. I would stay here again (maybe without getting breakfast), because it was very convenient, and now I know a bit more for transfers, and powerpoints. And as somewhere to sleep it was comfortable.
