As soon as we arrived, we were advised that it is unsafe to go out of the hotel. The lobby was full of children cycling on bicycles inside. We went to our rooms, and the hotel is in a serious state of needing refurbishment. The room furniture was in disrepair and the bed felt like a wooden plank. The people next door were singing loudly, and a lot of yelling in the corridors. We complained to reception, and asked for refund. Initially we were told we will be upgraded to a suite, and instead we were given a similar room a few doors down from the original. So we rejected and prepared to leave. We then were offered to be truly given a suite this time. But we had had enough and rejected. At least we got refunded then, before we left. This hotel should not be listed as a 4 star. Horrible experience. Would have ruined our stay in Rome.

All the staff (from the front desk, to the restaurant, to the housekeeper) were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the food at the restaurant was really good. We also appreciated the hotel shuttle. It was the room where things fell short. The pillows were really hard, and the shower door was missing so water got all over the floor. When we moved the curtains in the living room area to let more light in, we saw that several were covered with peeling plastic privacy film. The wall separating the bedroom and bathroom had a large window in it, plus a French door with glass panels. This meant that if you needed to use the bathroom while another person was sleeping, you couldn’t turn on the bathroom light without disturbing the other person. And one half of the French door to the bathroom didn’t want to open properly, so essentially you had to just go through half the opening. Again, the staff is great, as is the restaurant, but the room really needs attention, making the stay not as comfortable as it should have been.

was nice, comfortable, closer to the airport -- unfortunately, although I had emailed asking if they had a shuttle to the airport for an early flight to which they responded, yes you just need to let the front desk know your flight time the day before and they arrange the shuttle for you-- not true. We had to pay 60E for a taxi to take us to the airport at 4:30 am because the shuttle is not in service until 7:30 am. Communication of this was imperative and essential and for that I am not happy with my stay.

Restaurant was too slow. We ended up leaving and tried the bar. We were again sat for 20 minutes and no one came. We ended up ordering with glovo.
