Our stay at the SO/Auckland hotel was delightful and more than we expected. All staff members from front desk to dinning were very friendly, and genuinely happy to assist us on our needs. To the point, we have no complaints about our time spent here.

I enjoyed my stay at the property and liked the hotel. The room was comfortable and appealing as was the rooftop bar, restaurant and lobby. It was probably not the best choice for my 85 year old mum, however, as she found the technology daunting and could not access the lifts. She found the rooms, including the bathroom, lacked the traditional furniture of her preference and the bathroom door slide was quite heavy for her to move. Overall she commented that the property was too dark. Not sure how you would market this to deter elderly people from staying. I was disappointed that the coffee shop was closed for the entire duration of my stay and that the roof top bar was also closed for two days (Jan 1 and 2). That does not leave guests with many options. The manager of Harbour Society (the restaurant) was extremely accommodating and I would like to commend her for her professionalism and service. We appreciated her assistance and making us hot chocolate beverages. I also had a minor incident with an item being accidentally discarded by the room service attendant. I would like to thank the staff member on reception, Kes, who diligently managed the situation with the professionalism and courtesy that one would anticipate. I am most appreciative and highly commend her for expert training, care and understanding. Kes has excellent interpersonal and people management skills, qualities that are highly required in hospitality. I was not impressed with the dismissive attitude and abrupt manner of the duty manager at the time, Akshay, and perhaps he could be reminded of the standard Accor members have come to expect. This manager should also better support his reception team and trust them when handling minor complaints. I provided feedback to a different duty manager the following morning and was completely appeased and satisfied by his expert response and understaning.

We had an incredible stay, in a lovely room with a view of the city and harbour. We are so grateful for getting that room! The team as always were so welcoming and went out of their way to help, even though they were so busy. We just love this hotel and can't wait for our next stay

We had an amazing family stay at SO/ Auckland and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday getaway. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and genuinely thoughtful. I was so touched to receive a birthday card and treats — such a sweet and personal gesture that made the stay extra special. The staff on duty were outstanding and very efficient. They kindly extended our checkout and even came up to our room to assist when our phone wasn’t working, which we truly appreciated. Our suite was unique, stylish, and beautifully designed, with an incredible view that made the experience unforgettable. We also enjoyed the Club Signature access — the food and drinks were excellent and well worth it. The pool and spa were our family’s favourite, especially for the kids, who absolutely loved the pool. Overall, it was a perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and family-friendly fun. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend SO/ Auckland for a special stay.
