The Grand Mecure in Auckland CBD is our go-to for a dash of city shiz! We love everything about staying here for the convenient location right down to the perfumed aromas at reception & the laneway cafe for a quick coffee. We easily walked to mission Bay from the Hotel, found accessible beauty and wellness spas close by & the shopping & restaurants on our doorstep all within a few minutes away. ALready planning the next getaway.

Pleasant welcome including assistance with parking the vehicle overnight. Polite and friendly staff. Extremely quiet considering the location in the central city. Roadworks caused disruption but beyond the hotel’s control.

Central location. Staff were good. Room was small but ok for 1 night. Floor was sticky when we entered the room but the staff member who brought our luggage quickly cleaned it. After he left we noticed the area by the tea and coffee was also very sticky and the teaspoon was dirty. Not a major issue but a little disappointing.

We enjoyed this property very much after 11 hours of long flight we were able to checked in early and enjoyed the property. We enjoyed dinner choices as well as breakfast. They have fresh juices station and this is going to be one of the reasons we will continue to stay with This brand because having healthy breakfast choices is important to us. The hot order of breakfast of eggs Benedict was so yummy. I highly recommend having breakfast at the property.

Room and Hotel was clean and beautiful with a great location Restaurant and Bar Staff we utterly rude on 2 occasions to the point I never used the restaurant or bar again. Breakfast menu needs to be changed daily as 5 days of the same breakfast food was a little much. Also the way breakfast was run didn't work, staff just walking around not knowing what to do and tables not being cleared. You finished your breakfast before you got a coffee. Stay was great, hotel great, location great, bar restaurant staff not so great.

We arrived in Auckland from the Queenstown, Wanaka legs of our trip. We were seamlessly transferred from the Airport"to our Hotel by "Super Shuttle" The reception was our only hitch . We had adjoining rooms booked, caring for a 90 old in law. One room was ready the other not. It took sometime before we could access adjoining room. Then with only a one way access. This minor irritation was quickly forgotten, The warmth , friendliness and efficiency of all staff, (particularly in the Dining Room) were the service was second only to the view. Rooms were good,

Enjoyed everything until the checkout process. The check out agent (I think it was Steve) was quite rude and unhelpful. Didn't greet me or look me in the eye. I asked is he could tell me a breakdown of the charges and I was told no because the rate changed each night and I could check my bill. I asked for a copy and he said he cant print it and Id have to wait for email. Just a poor attitude, no customer service skills - a little disappointing. But the rest of the staff were great, room was very comfortable and I like the location of the hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights before going home. Hotel in a good location at the end of the main shopping street with airport bus stopping just in front. Room was clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities provided.

Some hiccup but overall good experience

We wished to change the room with queen bed to 2 beds but there was some hiccup. It seemed the price for 2 twin beds was more expensive than queen bed so we were being asked to pay the difference. We were a bit shocked. In fact, after some explanation, we were offered to downgrade the room to 2 single beds. From my experience, a lot of other hotel groups allow customer to change freely from one bed to two if there is availability. I think this can be improved. Nonetheless, most of the staff in the hotel are very nice. The restaurant on the top floor has the most amazing view, overseeing the city view of Auckland.

We enjoyed ourselvesbut thought that therewas not enough vegetable options on the menu. We would have loved a side of steamed vegetables or green salad. Also we found the wall paper so called music in the restaurant very annoying. One night a guest was playing the grand piano beautifully and we asked the staff to turn the sound down and they said they couldn't because it comes from the lobby. One piece of music sounded like a blowfly buzzing around and other pieces were just repetitive phrases going on and on. Over and over. Very annoying.

Flight centre selected as close to cruise terminal as flight due to arrive after midnight from Brisbane. Contacted hotel prior to travelling regarding transport,luggage storage and things to do.Got a prompt reply and the shuttle they recommended from airport was excellent as I’d booked it online from hotel link provided it was straight on after getting luggage and cheaper than other options and direct to entrance. As our cruise wasn’t leaving till later afternoon able to leave luggage at hotel with no additional service, this gave us a chance to do some sightseeing. On arrival still got a friendly greeting from staff even though it was after 1am. Room and beds were great. Had breakfast in hotel restaurant and staff where friendly and prices reasonable. Hotel was within easy walking distance of cruise terminal and our fifteen yr old son was happy there was a McDonald’s just outside hotel. Shops were nearby and plenty of other food choices for the adults. Would definitely stay here again and if your flying in to board your cruise it saves having to worry about getting stuck in traffic.

Hotel bar and restaurant was closed at 9.15pm on a Friday night. This was really disappointing. We are regular visitors. In the past the bar and restaurant facilities had been enjoyed until quite late in the evening and we were looking forward to this again. One of the important purposes of our visit to relax with friends and family was undermined. Very poor service - no decent hotel in New Zealand should ever be shutting down its facilities this early on a Friday night.
