We were happy that our requests for an early check-in and move to a harbour view room were granted. The room was very nice and the chocolate afternoon was pleasant. However, we were frustrated with an inability to access room service. there was no hard copy menu (we were promised one but it never arrived) and when we scanned the QR code on a card in the room we were taken to a betting app!

Fire alarm at midnight which is nobody fault. But simply an incredibly basic tiny room, and no hot water for a shower in the morning. Once I asked about the hot water I was dismissed as just something that happened after the fire alarm.

room was booked through work, as it has been on previous visits also. was adequate for my needs. only annoyance this time was that the room tv system had been set so that it audibly read out the channel, volume change etc every time, and I could not turn this off. that and only finding out through a colleague that i potentially could have requested a pillow change to one that actually suited my needs, which I will be doing in future

The chocolate hour was a little underwhelming. The fact that there was no Mövenpick ice cream was well noted. My son was really looking forward to this. It was also disappointing that there was no water available in the room. When I asked for it, housekeeping said I could get it from reception, and reception told me I could purchase it from the bar. Having travelled extensively around the world, water is always free. I know water is safe to drink in Auckland, although some find the chlorine a little strong. If it's for environmental reasons that the Mövenpick hotel doesn't want to give plastic bottles, then filtered water in glass bottles should be available in all the rooms.

Good location, fabulous breakfast buffet, friendly staff and I so appreciate having the room available ( I know paid for by the RS tour company) as we arrived so very early. I do wish though that a light breakfast ( tea, toast..) would have been included. Food there was very good and the coffee, tea outside of the meeting room so welcomed!

Wonderful experience overall with the Accor Movenpick Auckland Team. 1st time travel throughout the world that a Accor 5 Star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hotel didn't have sports channels for the guests. A real major concern on how this has happened. Rooms 5.0 Service 5.0 Location 5.0 Food and beverage it amazing, additional the staff are very helpful. Special thank you to the leader Bryan Greenwood, Bishal and Eliza 😀 Some feedback for the senior management of the Movenpick Auckland Team, there is a very major concern with service at breakfast when the hotel is at capacity, not normal for the Accor Group globally.

I have stayed here a few times in the past and have always liked it for location, staff, rooms and restaurant and bar. I have always given it a 10 out of 10. Sadly, something was lacking on this recent trip. Check in staff seemed disengaged, not their usual friendly selves as I have found in the past. I have been a Diamond Member for a few years and have traveled extensively in 2026 predominantly using the Accor Brand Hotels (17 check ins, 45 nights so far this year), sadly this one wasn't great. (usually is though). I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights, every day of our stay both rooms keys stopped working, this was really frustrating having to get them re programed. Surely this could be corrected, one staff mentioned its happening all the time??? Really!!! The restaurant and bar have always been a highlight when we have stayed in the past. Again, they were great. Food was as usual, fantastic!! Must say though the staffing of the bar needs looking at as every time we went the poor bar person was under pressure and it took a while for drinks to be served. When they did, they were great. All credit to the staff in the restaurant and bar and the quality of the food and service. They helped to make our stay 7/10. Will I go back? Yes, I would give it another go as we love the location and restaurant. Im hoping it was just a one off situation.

We’ve stayed at Mövenpick Auckland three times before and always enjoyed it, but this visit was very disappointing. When we arrived, we were told valet parking wasn’t available and that the car park was full, even though the valet area was empty. We had to find parking elsewhere in the city, which took time, and by the time we returned, Happy Hour and Chocolate Hour had already finished. What surprised us most was seeing valets parking cars at around 6:30 pm, with vehicles now filling the valet area we were told wasn’t available earlier. Our room on the second floor also had issues. The bed moved every time we tried to sit on it, and the noise from water hammer and water running through the walls was constant. Unfortunately, this stay didn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect, and for our upcoming November concert, we’ll be staying with another hotel chain.

My overall experience was extremely disappointing, and the way the hotel has handled the disappearance of my belongings has significantly affected my perception of Mövenpick Auckland. During my stay, my $910 Celine sunglasses went missing while I was dining at BODA Lounge. I had removed them while eating out of respect for the dining experience and believe I placed them either on the table or on the spare chair between my colleague and me. When I returned to my room, I noticed they were missing almost immediately and reported the incident to hotel staff straight away. I have since made several attempts to have the matter properly investigated. The hotel confirmed that CCTV footage showed me wearing the sunglasses earlier in the evening but advised that the area where we were seated was not covered by its cameras. Despite this, the hotel has ultimately declined any responsibility for the loss, stating that there is no evidence of negligence or wrongdoing. What has disappointed me most is not simply the loss of an expensive personal item, but the lack of a satisfactory resolution and the feeling that the matter has been dismissed because the hotel's camera coverage cannot establish what happened. I understand that the hotel may not be able to determine exactly how the sunglasses disappeared, but I expected a more proactive, transparent and customer-focused approach to investigating the incident and addressing my concerns. As a paying hotel guest, I expected a higher standard of service and care. Instead, I have been left feeling unsupported, frustrated and out of pocket by $910, with no meaningful resolution despite reporting the loss promptly and making every reasonable effort to work with the hotel. Unfortunately, the way this situation has been managed has overshadowed my stay and substantially undermined my confidence in Mövenpick Auckland. I would have hoped that a hotel of this standing would demonstrate greater accountability, communication and commitment to resolving a guest's concerns. Based on this experience, I would have reservations about staying at the property again or recommending it to others.
