So noisy!

Hotel was clean, room was tidy and modern, small but adequate. Location great. Room location made it very noisy and difficult to sleep (room 407). Noise was an issue coming from both outside the building (including the beeping of a pedestrian crossing downstairs when people got the "green man") as well as inside, with the room located immediately opposite the lifts (people talking as they waited for the lift or congregating in the corridor to chat after exiting the lift). NOTE: The people talking were just talking at a normal volume and would have had no idea that the room is poorly sound proofed. It understand the hotel was fully booked so this would have created extra noise/movement.

I’m truly pleased to hear you found the hotel clean, modern and well located — however, I’m very sorry that the noise levels in Room 407 significantly impacted your ability to rest. A good night’s sleep is essential, particularly during a business trip, and I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to experience both street noise and corridor noise from the lift area. You’re absolutely right — guests conversing at a normal volume would have no way of knowing the sound carries, and that highlights where we need to do better in minimising disturbance. While the hotel was fully booked during your stay, that certainly doesn’t lessen the impact this had on your comfort. We have since reviewed the room location and are mindful of allocating lift-adjacent rooms more carefully, particularly for business travellers or shorter stays where quality rest is especially important. Thank you as well for your feedback regarding breakfast. We appreciate your suggestion about having non-dairy milk options displayed more visibly, and clearer communication around barista coffee availability — that’s a helpful insight and something we can easily improve to enhance the morning experience. We value your comments on arrival, cleanliness, and our team, and we are grateful you recognised the positive aspects of your stay despite the disturbance. We travelled to Auckland from overseas. After the stay the hotel claimed we've used some stuff from the room mini bar, which is incorrect. On the same day, I emailed them of this mistake. I followed up 2 more times (total 3 emails sent) but no reply. Eventually I had to dispute my credit card. Location was great. Service was nice. Incorrect charges happens. However the lack of any responses is unfortunately making me NOT going to recommend this hotel to everyone else.
