stayed at the Ibis Kaunas Centre for two nights and overall had a good experience. The location is a real highlight. It’s very central, about a 10-minute walk to the Old Town, right next to the main bus station, and less than five minutes on foot to the main train station. Getting around Kaunas was easy from here. The room itself was clean and comfortable, exactly what I expect from an Ibis. Everything was in good order and suitable for a short stay. Breakfast was a bit mixed. On the first morning it was extremely busy, with most of the food already gone and no available seating, so I ended up taking breakfast back to my room. The second morning was much better as I went earlier and had no issues at all. The food selection was fine when it was properly stocked. Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re looking for a clean, practical hotel in a very convenient location, especially for travel connections.

We were checked into a dirty room that had clearly not been properly cleaned. Housekeeping had to come back and re-clean after we had already entered. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and the staff were visibly annoyed at being called out. That alone should have been a red flag. After checkout, a distinctive, limited-edition sweatshirt left hanging in the wardrobe was stolen. I am using that word deliberately. The item was not “lost”. It was left in the room. Once we checked out, it was under the hotel’s control. It then disappeared. That is theft, not misplacement. Management’s response was even worse: • immediate defence of staff, • no real investigation, • no CCTV review offered, • no meaningful lost-and-found process, • and an attempt to gaslight us by rebranding a stolen item as “lost”. I have stayed in hotels continuously for over a decade, including extensive stays with Accor brands. I have never encountered a hotel that combined filthy rooms, hostile staff, and missing guest property — and then doubled down on denial. If you care about cleanliness, honesty, or the safety of your belongings, do not stay here. This hotel damages the Accor brand.

This hotel should not be trusted with guests or their belongings. We were checked into a dirty room that had clearly not been properly cleaned. Housekeeping had to return and re-clean after we had already entered the room, which is unacceptable and humiliating for a paying guest. After checkout, a distinctive, limited-edition sweatshirt left hanging in the wardrobe disappeared. This item was not lost elsewhere. It was left in the room and therefore under the hotel’s control. It was then gone. Instead of investigating properly, management immediately: • defended staff without evidence, • avoided any meaningful review of what happened, • and attempted to rebrand the disappearance as a “lost item”. That is not professionalism — it is avoidance. Staff attitude throughout the stay was poor, including at breakfast, where basic courtesy was missing. No greeting, no warmth, no sense of hospitality — even on New Year’s Day. I have stayed in hotels for many years and across many Accor properties. This is the first time I have experienced a combination of filthy accommodation, hostile service, and missing guest property followed by outright denial. If you value cleanliness, honesty, or the safety of your belongings, do not stay here.

The stay was not very pleasant. My colleagues complained about the unpleasant smell and the total lack of cleanliness. Breakfast was okay, but honestly, the hotel needs a thorough cleaning.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. I had a single room, which was quite nice, but my colleagues had a double room, which was not so nice. The double room only had towels for one person, and cleaning was not provided even when we left a note on the door asking for it. The beds were 70 cm wide, which is not okay for a normal adult. For breakfast, they serve salads that are several days old, and the staff won't let you toast bread, even though there is a toaster available. A very bland experience. If you can, choose something else, but not IBIS Kaunas centre.
