A disappointing hotel experience!

The hotel is adequate for a one night stay. The room was large with two double beds but the furniture on the balcony was all damaged from wear and tear. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of toiletries. My reason for the low rating is the reception check in. There were only two on the desk and when a large amount of people arrive from a flight it took forever. Many people not only wanting to check in but trying to arrange tours etc. Why didn’t they get directed to a different desk which would then speed up the checking in process? There are a few restaurants and cafes which serve food and drinks. There is also a well stocked supermarket. The pool was very small for the amount of guests and not enough shade. There are no lifts to the first floor rooms and when you have cases with enough clothes for 7 weeks it is very hard work carrying them up two flights of stairs when you are over 60! On a positive point, we booked the Uluru Hop On/Hop Off bus to watch the sunset and we had a fabulous experience with a lovely driver who was very accommodating.

Not great service

I will be checking in February but two of the finer restaurants are closed as well as the spa. They are closed the entire month. Very disappointing.

Very poor value for money.

Terrible value for money. No Room Service is provided so you would think at the very least they would have some drinks /snacks in the mini bar instead of leaving an empty fridge. Asking $650 for a room in the off season during 40 degree days and over $1100 during peak season for a so called premium room. The least they could do is provide 2 bottles of complimentary water otherwise provide and charge for it. We arrived the first night after an all day tour. Had a shower then realized there is no water available and that we had to dress up and go buy water at $6.50 a bottle from reception. What a joke! And then to be told by reception that bottled water isn’t provided in the rooms because the tap water in NT is drinkable. Nice, let’s drink tap water thats 26 degrees out of the tap on a hot night . What an embarrassment to Australian Tourism.

Great Staff

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room had more amenities than we expected (robes, facial tissues, etc.). The Gallery of Central Australia was interesting. There were many events to choose from and the logistics getting from the hotel to the events were easy. The only issue we had was the wi-fi didn't work in the room or the hotel lobby.

Stunning and convenient location

Two things prevented a 5/5 rating: If the bar is is offering cocktails, there should be staff on-hand to help the barman. A 10-minute wait for a beer is unacceptable. A 4-star hotel should always have a coffee machine in situ these days. Chemical substitutes are not acceptable. Breakfast was excellent, pleasant shops on hand and easy access to all the areas of special interest. Firmly recommended.
