Great Staff

TripAdvisor rating 5.0/5

Jonnie C TripAdvisor review

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room had more amenities than we expected (robes, facial tissues, etc.). The Gallery of Central Australia was interesting. There were many events to choose from and the logistics getting from the hotel to the events were easy. The only issue we had was the wi-fi didn't work in the room or the hotel lobby.

Dear Jonnie, Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed our friendly staff, room amenities, and the variety of events. We appreciate your feedback and would like to note that, as we operate in a very remote location, Wi-Fi strength can sometimes be affected. We hope to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

Stunning and convenient location

Two things prevented a 5/5 rating: If the bar is is offering cocktails, there should be staff on-hand to help the barman. A 10-minute wait for a beer is unacceptable. A 4-star hotel should always have a coffee machine in situ these days. Chemical substitutes are not acceptable. Breakfast was excellent, pleasant shops on hand and easy access to all the areas of special interest. Firmly recommended.

Dear Julian, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments on bar service and coffee options and will take them into account. We’re glad you enjoyed the breakfast, shops, and convenient location. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

Great Experience

We had a great time in Uluru. We did the dinner and field of lights experience and it was great. If your going i suggest getting a small dish brush to help keep your shoes clean, worked like a dream.

Thank you, S T. We are delighted you enjoyed the dinner and Field of Light experience, and appreciate the suggestion for future visitors. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

Deluxe price for basic room

Desert Gardens Hotel We stayed in a Deluxe Rock View Room. The view was spectacular but there was nothing deluxe about the actual room. Whilst the room was spacious, the decor was dated and in need of refurbishment, The bed was uncomfortable and would benefit from a new mattress. Housekeeping standards were poor. The carpet was stained and the room looked like it needed a thorough, deep clean. There were fresh blood stains on the edge of the bed sheet, it appeared as though the bed had been made by someone with a bleeding finger. From the moment the reservation was made, I was subjected to regular, hard sell marketing efforts from the parent company, Voyages. Unfortunately, I succumbed and booked a Field of Light Uluru Dinner and a Sunrise Journeys Breakfast. Those “experiences” are worthy of dedicated reviews that I will post under the respective locations. Having ignored the marketing emails trying to pressure me into purchasing Hop On Hop Off Bus tickets that cost $170 per person for a 2 day ticket, I then received a phone call from Voyages. The claimed “flexibility” of these tickets was false because in addition to advance purchasing of the tickets, I was also informed that I needed to book seats on the specific buses that I wanted to travel on before I had even arrived at the Uluru. Further enquiries revealed that we were able to hire a car for a similar cost to the bus tickets for 2 adults. Voyages appears to monopolise most of the infrastructure at Uluru and once they had my reservation, they pursued me in an attempt to ensure that our money didn’t venture beyond their network.

Dear Caz, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly in relation to housekeeping standards and the presentation of your room. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and your comments have been shared directly with Hotel Management and the Housekeeping teams for immediate review and follow-up. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We are pleased you enjoyed the view from your Deluxe Rock View Room, though it’s clear the condition of the room did not reflect the level of comfort you anticipated. Feedback such as yours helps us prioritise areas requiring attention. We also regret that our pre-arrival communication felt excessive. These emails are intended to help guests plan their stay and learn about the range of experiences available in the region, and we are sorry that it came across as pressure to purchase. Your comments will assist us in reviewing both the frequency and tone of our communications. Regarding the Hop On Hop Off service, this is operated independently of Voyages. They require guests to pre-book seats on specific services due to limited seating and national park access requirements. We are sorry this was not clearly communicated at the time and that it contributed to frustration during your planning. Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate you sharing both the positives and the areas where we fell short, and we hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Ayers Rock Resort Team
