Nice hotel for 2nts in Uluru

TripAdvisor rating 5.0/5

Cassie307 TripAdvisor review

Really enjoyed our stay at Sails in the Desert. Perfect base for exploring Uluru. Stayed 2nts here in early January. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with great air-con to keep us cool in 44 degree heat! Pool was a good size and well maintained. Didn’t have dinner here but had a club sandwich at lunch and the breakfast had good choices. All food we had was enjoyable. Easy to meet for trips as meeting point was right outside hotel entrance. Walkable to all other accommodations and the outback bar or there was a shuttle bus that looped the resort and camel farm every 10mins or so. Would stay here again.

Northerncrystals TripAdvisor review

Beautiful comfortable rooms, food was fantastic. Pool area was great. Only downside is you can't get a simple sandwich or a coke... maybe they should have a cafe out of the core hours, too get simple snacks

Thank you for your feedback, Northerncrystals. We are delighted you enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, the food, and the pool area. We appreciate your comments regarding light snacks. During the hottest months this year, we do offer the Pira Pool Bar at Sails in the Desert, open daily for Lunch & Lite Bites from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, which includes simple snacks and refreshments. We hope to welcome you back again. Kind regards Ayers Rock Resort Team

Decent 'ish' hotel

This is marketed as best hotel at resort but to be fair there's not much choice, and this is ok at best. Check in was easy process but not huge amount of seating around reception and bar area. The bar service is very very slow and even outside at pool bar, its pretty slow. The rooms are spacious, clean but slightly tired. Its a decent hotel but overpriced for standard, and Desert Gardens might be better option given price

Dear Mike, Thank you, and we are glad to hear that check in was smooth and that you found your room spacious and clean. We also note your observations regarding limited seating around reception and bar areas as well as service at the bars. Your comments on value and comparisons to Desert Gardens are appreciated and will be shared with our team as we continue to review ways to enhance the guest experience. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

Great stay, spacious rooms

Wimmy1 TripAdvisor review

Fantastic stay at the Sails in December as part of our tour around Australia. We stayed here for a couple of nights as a base for our Uluru/Kata Tjuta trips. The room was super comfortable and spacious and would definitely book here again. We tried a couple of the free experiences which also involved students from around the area which were fantastic. Great stay. My only regret is not booking more days here and trying the restaurants. We ate out at the sunset experiences (which were amazing!)

Dear Wimmy, Thank you for your lovely review and for choosing Sails in the Desert as part of your Australian Outback adventure. We are glad to know you enjoyed the spacious comfortable room and that our free experiences and student led activities added something special to your stay. It is great also to know Uluru and Kata Tjuta were highlights and we will be here ready to welcome you back when you are ready to try the restaurants next time Kind regards Ayers Rock Resort Team

Shabby rooms but okay.

There really isn’t much choice of hotels in Yulara and it shows with this hotel. It’s supposedly the best hotel in the area but it’s average at best. Rooms are okay but shabby. Staff aren’t particularly friendly and the service is very slow.

Dear Blithbury Sloth, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please be assured that your comments are valued and will be used to help us improve our services. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team
