No particular issues with the room, facilities or location. Had to park on this occasion which is eye-wateringly expensive (£22.50 for 12 hours overnight) but that's Cambridge. I didn't get a great experience with the staff I encountered - the team member handling checkin was not exactly friendly. I ordered food from my room for collection downstairs using the WhatsApp number provided on the menu - the message wasn't read until 7:00 the following morning. The staff in the cafe were mildly apologetic, mostly apathetic. At breakfast, the server didn't seem to have the right info regarding my room rate i.e. breakfast included.

The hotel seems geared to brain-challenged kids rather than mature travellers. The labels on the soap are typical of the moronic word bites which seem to form the basic communication with your guests. Please try to treat us as intelligent adults rather than teenage morons.

We arrived early but we were allowed to check in to our room which was great. Staff were very helpful and informative. Room was lovely and cool. (it was a very hot day) Breakfast was very nice, lots of choice and helpful waitress. We would definitely go back!

Acceptable stay in Cambridge with the common parts being more impressive than the rooms

A convenient location for the train station, though still about a 25 minute walk into central Cambridge. The reception/lobby area is done nicely with a trendy looking cafe that serves pizza and drinks that would be pleasant to visit even without being a hotel guest. We had a small pizza which was very tasty. The downstairs area overall feels quite modern and trendy and that was the highlight. The rooms were basic with the bathroom being a bit plasticy. The weird door and sink felt very budget where the rest of the room wasn’t as bad. There were some marks on the sink, one of the towels and some odd spillage marks on the carpet. If you don’t look too closely, the room is clean enough to be comfortable for a place to sleep if that’s all you need it for. I can’t help thinking it’s a bit of a shame the rooms were not as nice as the downstairs area.

Compared to other Ibis hotels I was disappointed with the reception area very impersonal. The breakfast was good apart from the scrambled eggs. They were pretty awful.

We always stay at the Ibis when we come to Cambridge. The location is good- near our son’s house. The beds are comfortable. Booking is simple.

First visit in over 560 days and the hotel staff are as friendly as the last time I saw them despite the Pandemic, and all the upheaval that came with it. The rooms are clean, safety protocols are well thought out, and breakfast remains consistently one of my hotel travel favourites. Had been able to use credit that had roll over from a previously postponed booking due to the pandemic. From the time I got back in touch with the Ibis Cambridge to leaving everything was well catered for and the customer service from everyone we met was great! Shivani was our first point of call from the email and was also at the desk when we arrived, she was very professional, friendly and ready to answer any questions we had.

not very impressed. the good things were, friendly and useful staff, clean, well located, food had good options The not so good: Very overpriced for what you get; a very small room with very basic amenities. The pre-fab bathroom felt literally like a train toilet. No fridge, no phone, no water. The reception area. There was none. It was a tiny stool that was in the way of people passing to get in the lift. We paid around £140 pp/ night with breakfast. I would have expected a lot more. The overall experience was around £80/ night maximum

I stayed in Ibis Cambridge in business trips prior to COVID lock-down, and recently returned once the office re-opened. The hotel is immaculately clean, and the staff are as friendly as ever. The service is always great and the COVID measures the hotel is taking make me feel completely safe. Many thanks to the management and to all the reception, bar, kitchen and cleaning teams of Ibis Cambridge!

I did not stay. I'm a doctor and had a busy week with a lot of commuting on the background of 12 months pandemic. I was phoned by a rather aggressive person two days before my stay to say was I visiting for leisure purposes and that if I was that was against lockdown regulations. As you can imagine I am exhausted and wanted to reduce the strain of the commute. I was upset by her approach and decided not to stay.

Lovely staff but not enough of them

This was a late booking, done on my phone 30 mins before arriving. I had included the dog in the booking process, however and as ever with Accor hotels, they tried to make me pay for him again and the breakfasts I had also included. That sorted all was fine. At breakfast the covid measure ment no buffet and only one young lady serving. When she left to visit the kitchens or deal with guests booking out, some guests started helping themselves breaking all the covid measures. More staff required.

The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the friendly staff and the proximity of the station. However, that's where it ends! I was annoyed that on arrival i was not given any information about health and safety (fire escapes etc). Nor was i informed that there was no room service after my first night, so i was left with wet towels as they had not been able to dry after the first night. The shower was pretty pathetic, and not at all hot. I was annoyed at the tea/coffee situation. They provided loads of nice tea bags and coffee but only 2 milks and 2 white sugars, so i kept having to go and request more (I drink my tea and sugar white with 2 sugars in, and quite a lot of it especially when i am working!) Even when i asked for me, they looked at me as if i was an alien! And had to hunt through all their cupboards to find some. I think for over £60 a night the least you can expect is as much tea/coffee as you like, PARTICULARLY as they were not offering breakfast due to Covid-19. Nor do they offer a discount in their restaurant for people who are staying at the hotel, which most other hotels do. There were no biscuits on offer and no drinking water. I was also freezing cold because the fan was locked onto the 'on' position and i cant stand to be cold as i have an illness and get very unwell if my temperature drops. The manager on the first night managed to turn it off for me and brought a little heater, but the 2nd night it came back on by itself and the lady on duty that night would not come and look at it for me, saying i could do it myself at the panel. when i did do it at the panel it still kept coming back on. After lots of messaging back and forth to her she finally came up and managed to switch it off. In general i think the hotel lobby looks lovely but my room looked run down and the carpet was well-worn and the walls looked like they needed a good lick of paint! I would not recommend staying here at all. I think they need to learn to communicate better, and they need to be more generous with what they supply, especially whilst the breakfast is not on offer. Definitely not worth the money!
