Very nice hotel in a great location. It has a very small beachfront and when the tide was up, there was really no beach at all. The water and beach were filled with litter, which was sad. However, the hotel itself is quite lovely. The pool runs the entire length of the hotel so it's very, very long. I was able to do laps one morning and had the entire pool to myself. In the afternoons, all the chairs were taken, and people seem to grab spots for the entire day even if they're not in their chairs. Some rooms open up right onto the pool! The service here is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quite good. The included breakfast buffet offered so many choices. Our room was large and filled with amenities. It was comfortable and quiet. Very nice. We slept well. Easy to walk everywhere from this location.

The whole idea of having a separate hotel outside of the resort if someone books the base category is a terrible idea and literally screams that you don't care about your customer. I booked the Mercure after looking at the pictures, only to realise that I'm going to actually be staying OUTSIDE of the resort on a random building property on the road. Who comes to Koh Samui, books a resort property, to live with the view of the street??? Yes, I got an email after I booked showing the difference in the category that I've booked, but that's not enough, and is quite scammy because you send it to me AFTER I make a non refundable booking. Even the hotel lobby of the street hotel had a terrible smell of dirty shoes. I was forced to pay a lot more just to upgrade to come live in a smaller room but inside the hotel. My wife was upset, our anniversary was ruined, and the next day when I was eating a quick breakfast before our island tour, I asked for a take-away cup to take my coffee and your hotel doesn't even have takeaway cups for me to carry coffee??? Couldn't even get breakfast properly before my island tour day. Lastly, I requested for a late checkout, which very generously on the letter in my room mentioned that I could get a late checkout till 5PM (Subject to availability), sure I understand subject to availability, so maybe I wouldn't get 5pm, maybe 2,3, or 4. but the front desk "very generously" offered me a 30minute late checkout, and I had to change my whole day's plan because of this. Honestly I'm Marriott Titanium, was Accor Platinum last year, and I stay 100+ nights at hotels every year. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

We would like to kindly clarify that our hotel consists of two buildings within the same property. the Standard Wing and the Beachfront Wing are both officially part of Mercure Samui Chaweng Beach Tana. Room categories and locations are clearly categorized during booking as different room types, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences and budget prior to booking. and a follow-up email is sent after reservation to ensure guests are well informed about their choosen room prior to arrival. Guests who prefer to stay in the beachfront wing are always welcome to upgrade their room by paying only the price difference between room categories, as the beachfront rooms offer enhanced location and facilities. Breakfast is served at our restaurant and, in line with hotel policy, is not available for take-away. The restaurant opens early to accommodate guests with morning tours. Regarding late check-out, this benefit is subject to room availability. During the New Year period, due to high occupancy, we regret that extended late check-out was not possible. Love our stay at Mercure Chaweng Beach. Having stayed in Chaweng many times, I had no idea this hotel was in Chaweng. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Hotel is peaceful and the beach is beautiful

Till it was going well at time of check out we requested NANCY RECEPTIONIST to give us one hour extra. She bluntly refused and demanded that we check out at 12.00. Noon only. Was very disappointing and spoiled out tempo of vacation.
