A pleasant stay. Glad to have chosen this hotel for the long weekend stay. Firstly, before my stay I was pleased with the fast response to my emailed queries and these responses helped me decide this was the correct hotel to book. Positive: On arrival the staff at check in were friendly helpful and efficient. Negative: I was surprised to be asked to sign paperwork that required me to confirm any flexible booking would become inflexible after check-in. I guess this was introduced due to past incidents, but it for me it was a surprise. Although I had no desire to check-out early, the surprise paperwork instantly gave me a concern that the hotel must be bad and that I was going to have a bad stay. The staff accommodated my request for me to check the room before signing the paperwork. Fortunately, I found the room and overall stay good. I think this information and the request to sign this paperwork should be presented to customers before they reach check-in (e.g. on the Accor website or via email) so that it is not a surprise. The room was well decorated and in good condition. I am glad the recent renovation has had good results (the recent renovation was a key reason for selecting this hotel). The room was a little bit small but still workable for two people with only two small bags. I think that if I was staying longer it may have been a bit difficult as we would have had larger luggage. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was workable, and there was hot water and the tea making facilitates were good with mugs that were a good size. The room was generally quiet, but I did notice that the doors to some rooms could slam. I think the spring mechanism above the doors should be adjusted to create a soft closing, this will reduce slamming early in the morning and late at night (by other residents). Overall, I found the room comfortable. I did find the walk from the reception area to the room a bit less attractive though. Nothing wrong as such, but it did not have an attractive holiday feel to it. I found the walk via the outdoor garden path much nicer. I think it would be a better first impression if people walked via the garden path instead of the internal corridor – but that is not so good for bags. Perhaps staff could take the bags to the room whilst the customers go via the outdoor path? Or perhaps the corridors could be made a bit more attractive to look at? Housekeeping was good – the room was always clean and tidy after they had been, and they were able to accommodate our request to come back later on the one day that we were still in the room. The breakfast was passable for an Ibis. My wife found it acceptable but I did not enjoy it as a vegetarian. Most of the food contained fish or meat, or it was uncovered fruits/salad. I do like fruit and salad, but without a screen to protect from flies/insects and people sneezing, it is too unhygienic. Several dishes were nearly-suitable for a vegetarian, but they contained egg from caged-hens. I like egg only if it is cage free / free range in line with Accor Group policy. As the eggs are not cage free/free range at this hotel, it excluded a lot of the remaining dishes that did not otherwise contain meat or fish. Thus, I found myself generally eating plain rice along with potatoes and bread. Some mornings there were vegetables but on other mornings these vegetables also contained meat. It made for quite a carbohydrate heavy breakfast. The staff at the egg station were nice to fry me a small amount of mushrooms and tomatoes (without the egg) that I could have with the bread and rice. I do also think the bread loaves should have an extra cloth. There is a section where the customer slices the bread themselves. This is good, except that there is no cloth to hold the bread loaf. This means all the customers hold the bread with their bare hands. It was very unhygienic. Most hotels provide an extra cloth to use when holding the bread load so hands do not come into contact with it. It is worrying that this hygiene issue is not recognised by the staff. The coffee/tea cups at breakfast were too small. We decided to bring the mug from our room to breakfast as it was a more reasonable size. In general, the staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful and were working hard to keep the tables clean. I would like to thank Kannisorn Chankate (Tarn), Wichai (Pui) Homduang for dealing with my enquiry about the cage free/free range status of the eggs. They took my email enquiry seriously and liaised with their colleagues to get a conclusive answer. The pool area looked nice. The location on the beach was good. I had a massage and the staff were nice. Prices were clear, but it was not clear if there was a booking/reservation system. I enquired directly, but it could help when it is busy to book a specific timeslot. The barman made us nice juice drinks using our welcome vouchers. These were tasty. I do however think it is a bit poor form to limit the drinks selection based on the Accor membership level. I know some other hotels do this but I don’t think it is a good look. The security guard by the road/car park entrance was also helpful each day and helped warn oncoming traffic, as well as stopping the traffic when we wanted to turn right. The hotel location was also nice. It was a quitter area than most hotels, yet not too far from Bophut main area with the market and shops. Plus there were some e-motocycle and petrol motorbike rental places a short walk away. Overall, I enjoyed the stay. I was not sure what to expect beforehand as I had never stayed in an Ibis Resort before, but I was pleased to have chosen this hotel.

This is probably our fourth stay this year. It's undoubtedly one of the best ibis hotels. Wonderful people, delicious food, a unique atmosphere, a beautiful garden, a location, and a quality unmatched in hotels of this caliber. It's wonderful to feel like a guest, not a customer. We remember every stay fondly. Plus, Samui is our favorite place in Thailand.

10/10 for this hotel guys. It’s right on the beach, so waking up to the sunrise every morning was such a peaceful start to the day. It’s also really close to Fisherman’s Village, where there are plenty of cafés, beach bars and restaurants to explore. Having a 7/11 and a pharmacy nearby was super convenient. My friend and I originally booked just one night but ended up staying four more because we really enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, modern, and have such a nice beach view — perfect for photos too. There’s a pool, a small gym, and even a pool table. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast had plenty of options, and everything felt relaxed and easygoing. Definitely a place I’d return to on my next trip to Samui.
