They should make the elevator sign more visible for guests cuz it was hard to find it especially with so many rooms and different buildings. But it’s probably the only Ibis that have beach location or access

The first thing that you notice about the resort is that the price is very cheap. Then you spend ages looking for the catch. In the end you discover that the shortfalls are not that significant. The facilities are great, the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. It's worth paying a few dollars more for a sea view room. The pool is nice, there's an adults-only one, too. The bar has a limited but good selection of cocktails, with two for one happy hours at 11am and 4pm! The restaurant has a couple of local selections and an extensive western menu (I didn't try it, but it looked good). I tried the breakfast buffet one morning - the western stuff was OK, but there were a few local dishes which were very good. And it's cheap, especially if you buy it for the full stay. If you have a family it might be worth investing in the breakfast buffet, because the local food offerings outside the resort are limited (unless you like smoothies, which are brilliant). Some shortfalls - judge for yourself if they warrant paying an extra premium for (I didn't think so). The northern beaches of the island aren't as nice as the eastern ones - you can't walk along the beach, because the sand is too loose and scorching hot during the middle of the day. You can swim comfortably, but the bottom is mud from the low tide like - do some research into the island's beaches if this is important to you. The resort is at the far end of Bophut Beach, about 2km from Fisherman's Village night market. It's a bit of a walk along a busy road and if you're a man, you'll get lots of interesting offers from the massage places on the other side of the road along the way ;-). There are some good cheap local restaurants over that 2km walk, so you should be able to eat every lunch and dinner at a different one over a week. Some more upmarket options are available nearer to Fisherman's village. So, location isn't great, but Grab share rides are pretty cheap and extremely easy and fast, friendly and airconditioned, and there are usually taxis available. I was on my own, so this wasn't an issue for me, but it would be for a family. Storage is almost non-existent in the rooms. You will be living out of your suitcases, stacked in the corner somewhere. This is probably the biggest drawback. There are literally no wardrobes. My room had hanging space, though, which was handy. But I lived out of my suitcase, otherwise. This sounds like a lot of shortfalls, but seriously, check out the price against other resorts and ask yourself how much you'd pay to get rid of them. I will definitely be back, if I'm travelling solo.

A nice simple resort with rooms grouped around a central green space that leads to the pool and then the beach. There is an onsite restaurant, and a bar. Rooms are smallish, with small bathrooms - but include a safe, fridge, tea/coffee, and daily drinking water. The whole resort is well maintained and clean.

Postive: Staff could not do enough to help us and we’re so friendly. Breakfast really good and family friendly (especially for fussy kids) Improvements needed: Rooms need updating (my room had tape holding the floor together) Storage is an issue if you are staying for longer than 2 nights. We lived out of suitcase as nowhere really to unpack. This was fine for us hence the 9 * rating but worth while being made aware.

The property is located right at the beach with nice restaurant. The rooms however are small compared to what you would like to have but that's about ibis in general. The staff were really nice. However since the intercom was either not working or no one was managing, couldn't connect to the reception from room and had to walk all the way down every single time. The breakfast had almost same menu everyday which was not great experience but not complaining. The staff was really helpful in getting early check in and late check out based on our request.

Ibis Samui hotel is a budget friendly option for Koh Samui. It is on the more affordable side for families and has that feeling on site. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The main pools are small but nice and the sea views from the pools are fabulous. The small water slides are suitable up to about 6 years of age. The adults only pool is dirty. Too dirty to use! There is a layer of scum on the top of the water. The other pools are not like this so I'm not sure why this is the case. The connecting rooms are good for families however there is a serious lack of storage space. I don't usually care about that as im happy to live out of my suitcase, but there isn't enough room for the suitcases in the room! We had to get very creative with space, pulling beds apart and stuffing suitcases under them etc. The breakfast isn't good. We stayed for 7 nights but only ate the breakfast twice even though it was included in our rate. The rooms have zero sound proofing, you will hear everything in neighbouring rooms & the corridor. The cleaning is good. We were always happy with the cleanliness. Overall a mixed review.

Had a really great stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, which made such a difference. The room was spot on, aircon was lovely and the bed was so comfy I genuinely didn’t want to leave it. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was brilliant, loads of choice with a view of the beach and the sunrise, which was fabulous. Bonus points for having washing machines available too, such a lifesaver. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed 10 nights and liked the location. The hotel caters for families and children. It is definitely not for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. There are 3 pools for children and 1 pool supposed to be for adults but every pool had children jumping in, screaming and ball games. This seriously needs to be monitored so the adults have a quiet calm area to relax and enjoy swimming in. Sadly, the breakfast was quite poor, cereals very limited and some food not hot. However, the fresh egg station was very good and the ladies who cooked the eggs did a great job. A lot of the staff were very friendly and polite but sadly we won’t stay again. It is a hotel that focuses on families and children, not for couples.
