I booked in advance for 2 nights with breakfast and a 3 course meal for one night in a superior room on the flexible rate. Luckily i took a screenshot of the confirmation as on arrival they overcharged me £44. A bar bill of £29 was also deducted from my bank account when I was at a wedding elsewhere. If i didn't have the bank app on my phone I would not have known. It wasn't just me this happened to. Trips to reception to get these amounts refunded. The room itself was ok, but the bed was very hard, there were no plug sockets near the bed, the phone was missing, and it was extremely hot. The food was good there was a wide choice at breakfast with a variety of drinks on offer and there were drinks in the reception area. Staff are friendly.

For the first time in years and after a long period of feeling unwell, I treated myself to a pampering day. I came in the hotel and went for a coffee where I was greeted by Susie who treated me like a princess 😊, during our conversation she gave me the empathy and understanding that I needed, her wise words gave me encouragement too, thank you Susie! I then went for a full body massage and a facial with Gosia in their Pavo Spa & Beauty and again was treated like a princess, just what I needed, some TLC… Gosia is very knowledgeable and provided me with very useful tips on how to take care of my skin. Needless to say I’m booking my next appointment!!! Thank you Gosia😊

Two failed stays

The room we were given was so loud. We could hear slamming doors all night, snoring from other guests, people using the toilet and could hear conversations clearly from our bed. Looks like there was some kind of dog event on so we also got the added bonus of the occasional dog bark through the night. I’ve got no issue with dogs running around in a hotel but it would have been nice for the front of house to have mentioned this on checking in. Funnily enough this night we are staying was complementary after another failed night where there was no heating and hot water. Again failed to mention this fact on checking in. We gave it the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately will not be returning

We are All Accor members and always stay at Accor hotels. The experience is usually first class. On this occasion it was far from acceptable. Steve, the receptionist was pleasant and extremely helpful. From there on it was all downhill. The disabled lift was broken, the corridors smelled of cigarette smoke, the decor and bathroom were faded and shabby with mould in the bathroom seals. We ordered two sandwiches and drinks from room service at 21:45 and they turned up at 23:00 (with a profuse apology it has to be said). They were appalling. We will NEVER stay at the Great Danes again.
