Great Hotel location with great potential. This hotel and rooms are now very dated. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 28 years. Its was first a Hilton, then a Ramada Jarvis and now a Mercure. It is in desperate need of modernisation and refurbishment of the rooms and corridor's as it is now looking very tired and dated with the varnish rubbing off the wood work, worn carpets and dated appearance to the rooms with poor tech within. The TV was big enough but the signal kept breaking up. Bathroom and shower are ok but again dated being what you would expect in a Hilton in the very late 1990's with it marble look walls and counters. Bed is very comfortable. Bar area is ok needs a lick of paint. Food is super Breakfast for continual needs more choices Staff were GREAT. I stayed at the Mercure Sheffield last month and these hotels are worlds apart. I am sure Mercure will be updating this hotel very soon. I look forward to my return to see the changes.

Desk team bat staff friendly and approachable. Always make you feel welcome. Little basket of treats in room to make us feel Welcomed after a day shopping. Can’t remember maintenance man’s name but he certainly remembered us which was lovely.

£19 for half fish and chips won't be back

Stayed the night for our yearly xmas shopping trip. Nice reception bar and restaurant area staff are all friendly and welcoming. Buffet breakfast was fabulous rooms are very dated loose soap in the bathroom missing bulb above the bed. Used the restaurant for evening meal £19.50 for half a fish and chips safe to say i won't be back. Hotel is very handy if shopping as its 5 minutes away.
