The rooms and bathroom were shabby and tired looking in need of refurbishment. The cooked breakfast was cold. Never a 4 star. Wouldn't return.

Stayed in many well named hotels, this hotel unfortunately should not carry the Mercure name, room was very dated, windows were drafty and noisy even when shut, lights out, light controls all loose. Other party members were next door in premier inn, and in comparison worlds apart. Such a shame as the staff were nice and the bar/restaurant were good.

Friendly staff. Room could have done with more of a clean, the toilet had not been flushed from the previous guest and there was faeces left. The curtains has been broken, pulled off the runner so light was let in all night (we were next to a flood light as we overlooked the car park). The tv system in the room was great though and it was only a 5 minute drive into the centre.

Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Bit disappointed with the place especially price they are asking to stay. Floor boards creaked in main corridor and room - move in the bed and everyone in that section of the hotel knew, walls really thin so not a great nights sleep. Bathroom dated and grimy - black mould in corners and grunge around the taps. Room was very basic but had iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Breakfast was nice and a variety of food to choose from. Stayed in other places for cheaper with better standards all round.
