Unfortunately it was not a good start to our stay when we were refused entry to the restaurant as there was a coach party in there, despite there being several empty tables, we were told to get food from the bar. When we ordered, the dishes we asked for were not available & neither were the drinks we wanted. We obviously went out to eat. On getting up in the morning there was no hot water in our room! I went to the reception who arranged to get it sorted out very quickly but the same happened again the next day & I had to go & complain again. We had a twin room & my daughters bed was broken & tilting to one side so she felt as though she was going to fall out. We told the receptionist about this (a middle wheel was broken off the bed) and mentioned it to the maintenance man who came to fix the water and had a repair notification on the bed when we came back from a day out, unfortunately it was still no better & she had another uncomfortable night. Another trip to reception & we were moved to a new room luckily with no problems. I would not fault the staff for their help in these matters & they did their best to sort out problems quickly & efficiently

I booked a comedy dining evening for my wife and me for our Ruby wedding anniversary. I am disabled, and I just assumed that given the number of rooms spread over two floors, there would have been a lift should we have been given a room on the first floor. Unfortunately, not, so two flights of stairs were hard work, but worse was the trek to the room once I managed to get up the stairs. We booked a second night which wasn't part of the comedy dining and mentioned the problem with my mobility to the reception staff, in fairness to them they then gave us an upgraded room on the ground floor for our second night, also have to say that the staff were amazing and very friendly. Personal little niggle, not a snob by any means, I enjoy a nice brandy or cognac, Martel at the bar for over £5.00 a shot which was to be expected but, not one brandy balloon at either bar so ended up with a tumbler, not good, lesson learned if we were ever to stay here again take my own brandy glass with me. Breakfast, is amazing, with enough variety to suit all tastes.

I would not stay here ever again. We stayed Friday to Sunday Check in was supposed to be at 3pm didn't manage to get in till 3.30 Also Saturday night we couldn't sleep due to in the other room people talking so loud 🙄 from 2am to 3am and again at 3.30am to 4am couldn't sleep and my wife has autism so the talking noise we could hear made her very upset and she couldn't cope The radiator didn't work just got a small one given to plug in and the room was still freezing cold even with the small radiator Wouldn't come ever again

The room and corridors were dated in need of a simple fresh coat of paint. The practice of adding 10% to all bar purchases is inherently wrong. Lucas worked the bar well and would probably have got rounded up tips, whilst his elderly colleague could not have been less welcoming if he tried. So the bar ended up with "tips" it really would not have earned by a customer lead decision.
