Exorcist

TripAdvisor rating 3.0/5

Jan W TripAdvisor review

Booking in was met with very pleasant reception staff, the room was small, clean and basic but had an adjoining door to the next room, this was locked but didn't make us feel secure. We had already asked for a change of room to the front of the hotel but were declined due to availability. The walls are paper thin, the couple next door had a very good night (I think), I wasn't sure whether to call the police or an exorcist due to the numerous calls to god. Location is good, central to the docks and easy for Liverpool one.

Very disappointed

From the minute we pulled up to the front of the hotel we knew we made a mistake. The buildings outside was dirty. I don’t have anything against smoking(ex one myself) but you battled to get to the front door through all the smokers. We realised we were early for check in but thought we may be able to do the check in, drop the bags, park the car and then explore the city but when I mentioned to the front desk we were here to check in, I was immediately told that the rooms weren’t available. I said perhaps we could do the paperwork now but that was a no. We did get to park car and then my husband asked could we store bags which was ok. We came back later in the evening to check in. The gentleman on the desk at that time was helpful. I enquired about food and was told that the bar was serving food. What a joke. We ordered a pizza and a prawn linguine. The linguine was inedible. It consisted of a bowl of cold pasta, some tomato paste, huge sun dried tomatoes and 5 small prawns. The pizza was undercooked and not much better. The room was ok but the bathroom was a little dirty and cramped. The breakfast was ok. I asked for some fried eggs which weren’t at the service but they made them for me. Most of the staff were very helpful.

Seen better days

Stayed here a few times and it isn’t as good as it once was. Rooms quite small. Some have great views of the nearby Liver Building and the Mersey. This time my view was to the back. My room key didn’t function. On the first and second attempts it beeps three times but doesn’t open. Opens on the third attempt but I had to seek assistance before I found that out. Breakfast adequate but you have to ask for fried eggs. Evening meals and bar service Oversll tired and needing attention.

Great location but 'tired'

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with a coach party. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the tourist spots around Liverpool. It is right next to the Liver building on the Mersey river and approx 5 minutes walk to Albert Dock. The hotel could do with an upgrade as all areas looked a little 'tired' although everything did work. The food at Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice anbd the staff were very friendly. The one disappointmet was the bar which was on the 2nd floor but had the appearance of being a canteen with bright lights and canteen style furniture. No atmosphere and although there is a pleasant outside terrace with good views over the Mersey, there were very few customers in the three days we were there Overall probably a 3* hotel but in a great location

Loved the Vu Bar. Great views over the Mersey both from the bar and from the fabulous terrace. Served by Jake, who really made us feel very welcome, was very helpful with my gluten free requirements, and made great cocktails. Highly recommend!

Dear OnAir34952857778 Such a wonderful review of our team and offering here at the hotel, we always strive to ensure we meet our guests high standards and it’s great to see we smashed it. Thank you
