I am a regular visitor to this hotel and I am always well looked after by the staff, but there a few small things that always let the quality of stay down. E.g. there is rarely a bottle opener in the room, making it very difficult to open the coke bottles in the fridge. The last suite I stayed in (1206), the aircon unit in the lounge area was not working. The majority of the aircon units in the suites are damaged and cosmetically the place looks absolutely worn out. I am fortunate in that I get a free upgrade due to my membership status but if I was paying the full price for a suite and getting this lack of attention to detail I would extremely disappointed.

Was ok but room was smelling stale

The pillows in the room were solid, TV signal was poor on some channels, room had a stale musky smell like someone had previously smoked in it and unfortunately you cannot open windows to let fresh air in. Snacks are a rip off! I wanted crisps with my pint at the bar to be told to go to reception to buy them, when I got there I thought I’d buy a snickers bar for later, was told that it would cost £3.50 for a packet of crisps and a snickers! I returned the snickers at £2.00 but really wanted crisps so paid the £1.50! Room apart from the smell was clean though and condensation disappeared from the windows when I put the air-con on. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We arrived at the hotel 31 December, we went to are sweet as the room was very cold. We phoned down to reception they sent two electric heaters up to the room. This should not of happened as we spent a lot of money on this room.

I try to use Accorhotels on all my trips abroad, but this Hotel Mercure does not deliver what I expect. Online check-in kit was not ready when I arrived, the rooms heating system only worked for 2 hours at the time, the keys stopped working EVERY DAY, Lights in the ceiling was blinking all night and nobody could fix it even if we asked on Saturday morning it was not fixed when we left monday. The sign in the elevator said breakfast open 0630 on Mondays but it did not open until 0700. Since we planned our departure based on 0630 breakfast we could not start our long journey home with a breakfast we paid for.

We love this hotel, but think it needs some TLC. I think the plumbing needs looking at in the Queen elizebeth room, bit smelly. Sheets clean, room clean. One heater wasn’t working but fab view. Staff are especially nice in dining room, and bar ataff

A good clean smart hotel. The internal sound insulation was not as good as I would have expected and the room door was a little loose fitting and prone to rattle when nearby room opened and shut.

This hotel maybe a icon in Liverpool it’s been here for years and could prob do with a refurbished n certain areas. But everyone who works here loves it, and that love they pass on to. There guests... the manager here. Is a REAL Manager....he mucks in. And helps the staff prep for events.... NOW THATS TEAM WORK ...... and with the right happy team you can do achieve anything . 100 % say stay here and feel the love

Very disappointed with the bed in the family room and that there was only 2 cups and 2 glasses when the room was made up for a family. Would not stay again as a family again in the Mecure. I have stayed in the Premier Inn and Travelodge which have provided excellent beds in the family room and enough cups and glasses to reflect the number of people staying in the room. Even though the room was booked for 2 nights my son only stayed on the second day which was a good job as he said the sofa bed was awful and uncomfortable and only one pillow was provided and no extra ones in the wardrobe. The mattress was extremely thin and you could feel and see the shape of the circular springs. My sons dad slept in the bed as my son said he could not sleep in it as it was so uncomfortable. My partner said it was very uncomfortable and had a bad nights sleep. I am so disappointed as we could have stayed elsewhere with more comfort. We both work shifts in the nhs and as we were both working Christmas and New Year this stay was to our special Christmas weekend together. Also I know we can contact Reception but by the time we got to bed it was not a god time to swap rooms to find one with a better sofa bed and you shouldn’t have to ask for extra drinking equipment and pillows. I would have asked for a refund if it had been earlier and looked for another venue to stay in.
