Good hotel

Customer review rating 4.0/5

No complaints about your facilities, but the taxi I asked to be ordered from front desk failed to turn up. (Was it ordered?). By the time I’d sourced another & with the many road works I’d missed my train home. Maybe not the hotel’s fault, but it was a stressful experience that’ll stay in my memory a long time.

Sealed rooms - stifling.

The room itself was great with a fantastic view. However, the lack of ventilation was not good. What really wound me up was when booking the hotel, the booker kept me on the phone for 15 minutes, waffling and repeating himself. I later discovered that the call cost me £12.00. what a rip off.

Disappointing stay

I paid extra for a superior room and the room I got was very disappointing. It was a basic room, I basically paid an extra £30 a night for nothing. The room and bathroom was dirty. I’m more disappointed because I could of stayed in a lot better hotel for the money I paid. As of breakfast that was also disappointing for the price we paid, the full English selection was cold and dry. I can honestly say I will not be staying at this hotel again, I would rather stay at a travel lodge or holiday in for half the price.

Staff and Room lovely, shame about other guests

Victoria Couples - 08/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

Staff on reception were lovely and the room was very nice. However there were only two normal tea bags so we needed to ask for more. No soon as we checked in, we had two other guests trying to access our room as they had also been allocated the same room. We then had a complete nightmare at midnight with our "neighbours" shouting, swearing, smashing things. I had to call reception, they were given a warning, no one then came back up to check and the noise continued. Threats were then made and I had to call again to reception. In between him being asked to leave and reception calling the police he smashed the property, he shouted, he swore, he banged on doors and then was arrested by the police. This went on until gone 03:00. There was then blood on the carpet when we went out for breakfast the next morning. This was our first break since lockdown and was not the fun, relaxing time we had had planned.

We had problems with the booking of our rooms and were not provided with the rooms we paid for and requested. It seems it's more important to arrive early than the make requests well in advance.

I found your staff super helpful. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly on arrival but was soon rectified when I let reception know. The bathroom is exceptionally small, really ackward to navigate. The breakfast was well cooked, plenty of choice and of a good quality.

Nicely located.

David W. Families - 06/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

We booked two rooms for a family overnight stay. Check in was quick and COVID rules implemented. Rooms were spacious and ready when we checked in. Breakfast was originally a 'grab and go' but the restaurant was open so we ate a well prepared breakfast. Location is good for getting into town or visiting the waterfront museums.

Disappointing

Katie S. Couples - 06/06/2021 Confirmed reviews ALL

We were disappointed with the stay, check in at 3pm wasn’t available as the superior room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4pm. We waited over an hour and still the room was not ready. I asked for a different room as we had a meal booked at 6 and needed to get ready. The room was a standard room and it hadn’t been cleaned. We then had to have another standard room. The whole experience was very disappointing.

Well located.

I know that we are still all concerned about covid but I thought the hotel went over the top with a rules and regulations. I have never ever had to make my own bed while staying in a hotel. I cannot see any reason why the housekeepers couldn't clean our rooms and replace toilet rolls and towels without being asked providing we are not in the room the same time.

Very well located

All the staff are welcoming and friendly. The hotel is a little tired looking but I understand it’s having a refurbishment....our room was good with fantastic views over the city and river. We had an evening meal which was good. My only grumble was the breakfast...the cooked breakfast whilst all good produce and nicely cooked was lukewarm. It was a shame because the staff we’re doing their best in these difficult times to plate it for you as you weren’t able to help yourself. The choices were excellent....good tea and coffee that you could also take to out in a concealed paper cup. All in all a good stay...reasonably priced and we would stay again

The hotel was good for our needs. The bed was comfy, great views and it was nice to have breakfast too. Staff were friendly and we felt it was well-located by the docks. Some aspects could do with a little update but overall, it's a good place to stay and we were happy with it

Excellent hotel, Martin on reception is amazing, so helpful. The hotel is excellently positioned for some fantastic views of parts of the river and liver building. We were staying there, due to attending my sisters funeral, that made it so much easier. I recommend this hotel

Dear Roy, Thank you for your fantastic review although our apologies it was in sad circumstances. I'll be sure to pass your comments into the team and in particular Martin. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly in the future should you be returning for Liverpool for a more enjoyable reason. Kind Regards Alan alan.shaw@accor.com
