We stayed here for 1 night for a wedding nearby, actually 12 miles away and taxi used by the hotel was very expensive, £28 there nearly £50 on the way back at midnight so ensure to include these costs when booking this hotel or source a cheaper taxi company, I didn't realise the costs at the time of booking. During check in, the receptionist had a problem with me resting my bag on the table, but seemed to have switched her tone after she checked us in, not sure if its because she realised I'm a platinum status member. She was very nice to us during the rest of our stay. All the other staff we encountered were all very helpful and polite. The actual hotel itself was good value for money with good amenities and comfortable bed. The hotel doesn't have stairs, but that was not an issue for us. If you have heavy luggage or issue with stairs, I would recommend to request for a lower floor. Breakfast was well equipped, and the staff were quick to help us arrange a table for 4 when there wasn't any about. Thank you for a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely stay. Very pleasant helpful staff, good food, rooms airy and clean, lovely surroundings. Excellent bar with extensive range. Check in and out extremely easy and efficient. Receiving a voucher for 2 complimentary drinks was a very welcome surprise. All in all a very nice stay and would certainly recommend to friends

Upon arrival, the young man on reception checked us in and gave us all necassary details and offered to help with getting suitcase to our room as there was no lift. Quick smarten up and out we went returning much later that evening. Bed very large and quite comfortable. Early breakfast due to a elderly coach party staying at the hotel who gave the impression they had not eaten for months! Normal hotel fare but items quickly run out due to above. We had arranged to go out with relatives early and returned to hotel around 15.30 to smarten up for going out in the evening and this is where things became apparent. 1) Room was filthy - pictures, cabinets were thick with dust and fluff, windows covered in cobwebs. 2) "Maid" had not made bed ( just pulled duvet straight ) and had not replenished tea/coffee. 3) carpet was worn and had a serious bump which caused my wife to trip and damage her ankle later in the evening. 4) one drawer contained a bottle of fruit shoot that was well out of date obviously left by a previous guest ( bottle was clear and fruit shoot now comes in coloured bottles ). Due to going out for dinner we did not have a chance to report these until checking out the following morning where i must say the Reception Supervisor was extremely apologetic and seemed genuinely surprised at what we experienced - showed her the photos we had taken and wife was hobbling around. Breakfast on 2nd morning not really any better, no coach party but still had to wait for hot items to be replenished - some items had dried out in the heat. Overall a very dissapointing experience, very surprising poor level of cleanliness especially as Co-Vid still present but the reception staff were great.
