Disappointed with this hotel on this trip. We have stayed here many times. The first problem was that the lifts were out of order and were going to remain so for 2 weeks. The second problem was a stain on the toilet seat which appeared to be vomit or blood. A photo was taken and shown to reception staff. Now these things can happen in every hotel, but we were a little disappointed that there was no small gesture from the hotel to say sorry for the issues. It would have gone a long way. Apart from that it is normally a great hotel with excellent staff.

The rooms are very noisy and you can hear what happens outside and also inside the hotel. Cleaners on Saturday morning were so loud banging on the walls we could not have a good rest! On the top of things the elevator didn't work and no compensation was offered! PS. NCP carpark next door is revolting and you should never recommend it! It stinks of urine and I found human faeces behind my Jaguar!

On arrival, reception was very helpful and friendly. We were then told that both lifts were out of order. I had a friend stay here 5 or 6 months ago & another one since then, one of the lifts was out of order on both occasions, so clearly this is not being dealt with, not a great start. 10 flights of stairs up & the room was okay. Needs a bit of TLC, but certainly not a bad room! Bed was very comfortable, good night sleep, well appointed bathroom & all very clean. A few stains that i feel should be dealt with on the chair, but overall, very nice. Restaurant/bar staff are also very friendly. I would stay again, but i would check on the lift situation first!

I stayed from Sunday 12th until Friday 17th January. The lifts were out of action from Monday all week. Some customers were apparently offered free drinks as an apology but others, like me were not.

Having stayed at this hotel on a few occassions it is noticably becoming in need of some TLC with fixtures and fittings starting to look worn. This was more noticilby evident on our last stay when for the complete duration both lifts were out of service meaning we had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs each time to our room. This was not made known to us during the booking process but only on arrival where were told it would be fixed the next day. Later speaking to a member who we passed on the stairs, we were told that 1 lift had been out of action for some months and the second for a few weeks. We booked our usual superior room overlooking the river and as mentioned this was now looking dated and not as sumptuous as the first time we stayed here. Our room was opposite the doors to the non-working lifts and the noise here was a little exsessive. During our time we didnt use the restaraunt as we ate out each day but we did pop into the bar for a drink on our return one evening. The bar tender was chatty and made us some lovely cocktails.

Not clean and no luxury

Was supposed to get free soft drinks. We got 1 bottle of water; also no capsules for coffee machine, when I asked a cleaner for some as we paid for them in our stay she said she would put some in whilst we leave as we had to go due to picking up our hire car but when we came back still none. The room wasn’t cleaned properly either they sweep stuff under the carpet and don’t empty the bins unless they are actually full so we had a previous guests rubbish still in our room. Only nice side was that we could check in early but obviously we could because the room wasn’t done. Pretty sure but can guarantee but think our sheets were old ones not fresh as they smelt of sweat. CLEANER again said they would fix it and didn’t happen. Will not be returning

On arrival we were greeted at reception and offered an upgrade which we paid for prior to arrival, we also requested a high floor as we had thought that as it was the 5th January the hotel would be quiet which it was. No high floor was given, we ended up on the 1st floor, little disappointed, on entering the room which was quoted as a premium room we were overall disappointed with the size of the room, we opted for an upgrade for the benefit of a big room but this was not the case. Breakfast the next morning was also disappointing, the hot food was cold and dry and had obviously not been refreshed, three quarters of the tables had dirty plates and one staff member checking guests in for breakfast with a comment you can sit anywhere (well anywhere that had no dirty plates on) On check out there was no request for feedback or even that if we enjoyed our stay. Very disappointed.

Have stayed here several times before.Paid extra for the river view. Lift out of order so had to use stairs. Paintwork and carpets looking a bit tired. Room OK but very noisy. Could here all noise from outside and person snoring next door. Very little sleep as drunks shouting at 3am, bottles collected at 4am, laundry at 5am and bins emptied at 6am. Wentdown to breakfast at 745am and cooked items were luke-warm. Overall- very disappointing.

the hotel is looking tired, only one lift was working, service at breakfast and dinner was poor and points have not been added to my ALL account.

1 night stay in a huge very comfortable bed. All the usual facilities, very clean and modern. Big bonus for me was the coffee machine with decaf pods. Slight problem was a wobbly bedside shelf - not great for morning cup of tea. Hopefully this has been fixed as we told reception in the morning. Buffet breakfast was fine with lots of choices. Cooked breakfast was a little dry when we ate at 9.30. We really like this hotel. Although we live in Bristol it feels like a weekend break away from home and gives us chance to have an evening in town.

Creaky Floorboards in a concrete construction building ? Glad i wasn't in the room below. Things got a bit lively when a couple burst in on me as i was trying to relax after Eye Surgery at a local Clinic. Incompetent Reception had failed to update the fact that my room was already allocated. Very embarassing all round.
