Lovely room but freezing cold

I stayed as part of the UKinbound Convention and paid an extra amount to upgrade my room. Whilst the bedroom was beautiful, it was freezing cold and I couldn't get the heating to work; something I only discovered when I went to bed just after midnight.

Check in good, reception staff lovely. Room fine and clean, not much storage space to hang clothes. Ate in restaurant in evening good cold. No room service for food available late at night. Breakfast was appalling, 20 minute wait for table, no apology for having to stand and wait. Hot food sparse and not replenished very quickly. No glasses for orange juice. Considering the expense was terrible service at restaurant. Will probably prevent me from choosing this hotel again. As there is plenty of choice in Bristol.

This is our third visit to the hotel - it is a lovely hotel in a great location. The issue this time was that the gym was closed and this wasn't highlighted when booking - me and my wife are both training for half marathons and so needed to use the gym on our stay - had we known about the gym closure, we would have booked somewhere else to stay.

Good sized room and comfortable bed. The hotel was well placed in a reasonably quiet area of Bristol. Breakfast was self-service & was plentiful, catering for all dietary requirements.

Easy check in on line. Parked car in hotel car park which was very tight and narrow Hotel kindly made a room available when we arrived at 12 noon for us to change in. Friendly and helpful staff. All room very well appointed and comfortable. Easy checkout and settlement of account.

Our fifth or sixth stay and still like the place for a city break as it is so central. Unfortunately at breakfast the plate warmer is still not turned on so food goes cold. The bar staff are not very friendly and the bar closes too early for a 4 star hotel.

Check in was pleasant. Staff were helpful. My room was smaller than other colleagues but perfectly formed. My only issue was with the very noisy piece of equipment outside the building which may have been for air con or heating. The shower was lovely with plenty of hot water. The tea/coffee facilities were much appreciated. The breakfast could be improved as a little overcooked especially the eggs. It would have been nice to have fresh cooked poached eggs as an option? Also the queue for "machine" coffee could have been avoided with a second machine.The restaurant was pleasant and well laid out. The conference facilities were good with comfortable seating and easy access to toilets. All in all a pleasant stay.

I stayed on the UKInbound conference. Breakfast decent, staff polite and clearly putting the effort in as displayed by the man painting the corridor every day. The thickness of the walls between rooms however was dreadful. I was woken up by someone on their phone very early. Not his fault, you wouldnt expect such thin walls. Very disappointing.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and really like the location and the hotel itself - and the staff are always friendly and helpful. My only issues on this occasion were that we had an incredibly uncomfortable bed and there was a lot of noise most of the night from above (the only way I can describe is it sounded like someone rolling barrels around the floor).

From where we moved which turned out to be very basic , anything was an improvement on that ...the bed was very comfortable and staff were really friendly . The only thing I would say is at moment just have at each floor hand sanitizer or at entrance of the hotel.

At the Bristol hotel we were in room 236 - very disappointed with the volume of noise from the hotels own extraction units outside the window - we had to put cotton wool in our ears.

The location was great and decoration/ quality of hotel was lovely. The only downside was the bedroom was a little 'dark' and the air conditioning unit was not working and very noisy throughout the night.

Came for an event in the evening. Event catering was very good. Breakfast was a bit lacklustre - good range of fruit but not very exciting bread and hot food rather congealed looking. Disappointed that the pool and leisure centre was closed - especially as this wasn’t mentioned on the Mercure website which I checked on the day I arrived. Walls were very thin. I could clearly hear everything my neighbour said on the phone to his family - which was a bit annoying as he called them at midnight and then again at 5am and 6.30am.
