Location great for where I needed to be

I had to move rooms after the first night as I didn't have any hot water in the bathroom, 2nd room I moved to was ok but by time of leaving 2 bulbs were out in the bathroom one over the shower so not great but usable. Staff really pleasant and helpful, no quibbles about moving rooms. One thing in my opinion you need to look at is giving your cleaning staff more time to clean rooms once back to normal (or it would have been prime opportunity to get them back up to scratch whilst quiet), it has been my biggest complaint ever since staying with you and I actally go to Premier Inn out of town out of preference as its cleaner than your hotel. When was the last time your Hotel Manager looked in a room, I mean really looked in a room? go look in the fridges, every single one where I have stayed in privilege room in the last 4 years, look at the top tray (usually crud in it, look at the fridge handle usually crumbs in it). Look at the lovely panelling you have in the rooms, look at the ledges in the design (filthy with dust), look in the showers (the mildew in the silicone). Look at the bathroom doors, when was the last time they were cleaned (every room I've stayed in has some kind of spill down it) Just a few extra bits kept an eye on would make a huge difference to someones stay. Your hotel is a great location with added benefit of restaurant, gym and pool, but in all the time Ive stayed with you I have never been brave enough to use the pool because of the cleanliness of the rooms as if the rooms are like this, what are the changing rooms for the pool going to be like... and I love swimming. Someone just needs to give the hotel a bit of a love and care, because you could be a fabulous place to stay.

Despite Lockdown restrictions my 2 night stay was satisfactory. I have stayed at the Holland House on several occasions over the last 3 years. I was surprised at the fact that the neighbouring room was occupied when the hotel was almost empty. Noise is the enemy of all hotel guests, the decision to place guests into adjoining rooms is at best inconsiderate! I am sure you can do better.

I have marked it down as the trouble I had was not within the hotel but trying to an add my husband to my booking and add breakfast for our three-day stay, it took 20 minutes to sort and then at checking in it wasn't done. our stay was lovely staff very friendly and helpful, room and hotel very clean with good safeguards for covid in place. I have stayed there many times and for the third time, the lifts were not working at part of my stay. food was nice. my husband felt the car park was over priced

I have stayed at Holland house on multiple occasions and in all honesty was a little disappointed. We had booked two rooms which were on different floors despite the hotel being empty. Our rooms looked tired and it just didn’t have a feel of a high end hotel which is what I have come to expect. Breakfast was very limited and I appreciate why the buffet isn’t available but to not offer preference on how eggs are cooked for example means that the offering was very poor and I was left feeling cheated.

No swimming pool which was shocking considering you had no more than 50 guests staying cold showers insincere wots app questions . Really get agrip.

We returned after a stay earlier in the year. Although disappointed there were a few hiccups it hasn’t deterred is from visiting in the future. The breakfast staff are so friendly and helpful, just what you need on a stay away from home. We look forward to a future visit when the pool is opened and things return to normal

A bit underwhelming

The hotel is an excellent location, close enough to walk to the harbourside and Cabot circus but far enough away to not suffer from noise. There was plenty of parking available as well. Slightly disappointed to learn the swimming pool was shut when we checked in as it was not mentioned at all on the app whilst booking. I understand why but it would of been nice to know. As this was our first trip this year due to vovid, I upgraded to a privilege room. Unfortunately we found the bathroom door extremely hard to open and close, a leaking shower cubicle, the flush was difficult to operate and the towel rail was broken. Due to a reduction in cleaning the tea / coffee facilities were not replenished and neither was the mini fridge so we had to buy ecmxtra stuff ourselves. Not a great hardship but when I paid over £50 extra for the upgrade it certainly wasn't worth it this time.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I was pleased to read that our location was good for you and there was plenty of parking. We have removed pictures and mention of the pool so there is no confusion about it being open. My apologies the bathroom door and toilet flush was difficult to operate.
