Hotel Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan The review refers to the travel period November 2024 and room 2716, traveling as a couple without children. Normal standards for amenities and food, not luxury travelers. Hotel in general Relatively large hotel with 550 rooms on 32 floors. Reception on the 5th floor and breakfast room on the 6th floor attractively furnished. Unfortunately we couldn't find a place in the breakfast room where it wasn't very cold because of the strong air conditioning, so better dress warmly. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable in all areas. Good location, Ding Ding, and bus in front of the door, a few minutes to the metro and Macau ferry terminal, cheap supermarket and Seven Eleven nearby. Food Breakfast OK, more geared towards Asian guests, there are lots of hot dishes, but not much for a German breakfast, no cheese or cream cheese, 2 types of sausage and toast. Guests also had to point out frequently that some things were empty and needed to be refilled, even when the restaurant was not very busy. Room 2716 Standard room, with a harbor view, the size is OK for Hong Kong but with very few storage options, it is barely enough for one person. The light switch for the bathroom is on the wrong side outside, very inconveniently placed. Some minor cosmetic defects that need to be repaired, see photos. The beds are very hard, despite the extra topper that the hotel offers. The room is the last one in the hallway, so there is little noise from other guests, but unfortunately the staff elevators are opposite and you can hear them constantly, even during the night. We noticed that some rooms seem to have yellow, red or blue tinted windows, which then colors the room in the corresponding color when light comes in from outside, which would have been disturbing for us. Due to the view and location, room 3108 would probably be the best room. Staff/service All of our special requests were fulfilled and queries were answered quickly by email. From the airport you can reach it by bus in 30-40 minutes for around 5-6 euros. Photos and travel reports on my Instagram profile about_uli

Given the relative lack of reasonably-priced hotels in Hong Kong, this ibis is a solid choice for a couple nights. The hôtel is about 10mn walk from the underground metro stop. The rooms overlooking the harbour are nice and well-isolated from noise. Room was clean and beds confortable, bathroom was okay. Service from the front desk was okay, not bad, not great.

So clean and practical system And the crew name is Sarah, she’s so kind and professional. It is located close to the station, so it has good access wherever you go and is suitable for traveling because there are many restaurants nearby. thank you, good service.

Very basic 3 star. Polite front desk. Fairly powerful shower. Extremely bright white light in bathroom. Totally no frills. Suggest to IBIS front desk that if they know a guest is first time at Ibis, to allocate a slightly less jaded room where possible. First impressions do count. It's my first time staying in an IBIS. I do not recommend this unless the pricing is sgd 130 or below. Not worth paying any more. Cons of which many: 1. I was checked in after 10pm as a solo lady traveller, in a room which was far from the lift. 2. The ambience is very jaded. The shower tiles have missing grouting. 3. Beds are extremely uncomfortable. It seems most ppl request for an extra mattress topper which predictably was not available. I have to wait. I'm here only two nights. One sleepless night if not two. 4. No toiletries except for a 3 in one soap shampoo. No drinking water in room. Water cooler is on checkin floor. 5. No USB point. So bring your own toiletries & USB plug. 6. TV volume is set max at low. Presumably because of the thin walls. Apparently it can be adjusted. We shall see. 7. Walls are think. Can hear neighbours talking. That's why tv volume is set low at max, I suppose. 8. Notice about in room pest control. I smell chemical odour in room which front desk said "no chemical". But I smell it. 9. Noisy aircon. Even in Low fan. 10. Overall first experience of this IBIS is very poor. How ppl highly rate it is beyond me. May be the long term ACCOR members rating highly for the Club rooms.

I understand that some guests find our beds to be on the firmer side. The Housekeeper Team has been informed about your comments on the toppers while we purchase new linen, towels and toppers on a regular basis. Due to the government regulations on disposable plastic tableware & other plastic products and as part of Accor’s sustainability commitment, the Hotel no longer places single-use amenities and encourages our guests to travel with reusable daily necessities. The 3-in-1 solution serving the purpose of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is part of our environmental protection initiatives, however we are pleased to offer additional amenities at your request. Regarding TV volume, we kindly ask our guests to be considerate of their neighbors. However, please feel free to adjust the volume using the remote control or contact our staff for assistance during your next visit. As you noticed odor in your room, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us for assistance or request an air purifier to ensure a comfortable stay. Thank you again for your review. Best Stay at a Good Price

As is the case with all Ibis Hotel, we chose this prperty owing to it's price and central location. With 2 Metro Stations just 10 minutes away by walk, this hotel is very well connected to the res tof Hong Kong. For people who don;t want to walk, a tram stop is just outside the hotel. The hotel has been maintained well and the housekeeping staff ensure that the rooms are cleaned and kept tidy. Altogether a very memorable stay.
