Had a very comfortable room and the hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the Hunter Valley Garden Village and other venues and close to 3 wineries and miscellaneous shops all within easy walking distance.

Accommodation was well located, convenient that you are able to park the car directly outside the door. However, room requires proper cleaning before stay.

Check-in was fine. Get to our room to find that although I booked for 2 Adults & 2 Children, there was no bed for the children. Phone reception to be told that would be an additional $25 per night. No, I booked & paid extra for 2 children & I expect that would include a bed for them to sleep in. The room, although stuck in the early 90s, was clean & tidy. The external areas of the WHOLE resort are dirty, broken & tired. The pool area was ok, nothing a good gurney & replacement of a few broken tiles wouldn’t fix. However, the festy room service trays that had clearly been on the broken tables for some time were an eyesore. While I understand Covid restrictions I fail to understand the need to book a time for breakfast. Of course this was not advised on booking so the only times available were early, not quite the relaxing sleep-ins we were desperate for & had we been advised such I would not have booked bed & breakfast. To top it off, no umbrella in the room & surprise surprise, none left at reception either. Such a shame because we used to love this property but until it receives the attention it deserves, we won’t be back. On the plus, Dominic in the restaurant was a gem.

Below is feedback in regards to improvements that can be made. 1. Dirty plates left outside rooms over night was not nice to look at. Perhaps room service could collect dirty plates and left over food that is left outside rooms early in the morning 5-6am 2. Grounds need to be checked early morning to remove dirty ash trays left on side walks and tables and chairs cleaned around pool area. Used pool in the mid morning leaves in pool and bird poo on tables and chairs. Bloodied Dead pigeon on the ground outside restaurant which was nice to see. Early morning inspection of the grounds would prevent the above issues. 3. No poolside towels provided. No drink service provided at pool area. 4. The restaurant temperature was freezing Informed staff and was told that the air conditioning temperature could not be changed.

Visited for 1 night. Great location and property. Although room is a bit dated in terms of decor it was still a very comfortable and spacious room. Love that the property is in walking distance to lots of wineries and things to do. We didn't get to use the pool during our stay due to the weather but this looked great too. We'll definitely be back!

I was not happy with our room. Most of the things were really old. Balcony was so filthy, cob webs, not maintained properly. As soon as we got into the room, We got a bad smell in the room. The room service, only just cleaned the beds and the bathroom, but the balcony was not cleaned, our plates, cutleries were left out for 5 days, until we left. Bad experience

Unsafe for children place in disarray

Water temp is way above legal temp that is a maximum of 50deg, I’ve stayed at a lot of Mercure hotels and they are awesome but this was has given me second thoughts, I was showering my 3yr old son, I set the temperature to coldish half way through the shower he screamed out in pain at first I thought he got his toe stuck in the drain so it to a few seconds to work out I was burning him (I was holding the flexible hose and couldn’t feel the temp change) as I found out with my shower the temperature can go extremely hot depending on if other people turn in other rooms turn the cold on fast, to rub insult to injure I was washing my sons muddy feet near to hot water system and that garden tap also came out with hot water , the room had things missing like glass shelves and to bathroom flooded every time we showered, the pool spa we had to fill will water as it wasn’t maintained, so the hot water is 100% Not safe for children, the room felt worn out with no attention to repairs, the pool was not maintained regularly enough (spa switch water cover was Brocken an electrical hazard), the a/c remote was unreadable, walkways where filthy, cob webs everywhere example outside light, putty unpainted in roof of shower, shower screens leaking and full of scum I could keep going but I think you get the point

Well located and very convenient. Good service also. However, we understand that bugs will be around at the hunter valley and we don’t mind them. However, we had those big, flying cockroaches in our room. Not one or two but a few!! We were constantly spraying the room with the insect spray provided. The smell was so bad that we had to go and purchase air freshener for our rooms. If pest control is done regularly cockroaches shouldn’t be roaming the rooms. Makes me wonder wants in the kitchen because if this, my stay was uncomfortable. It didn’t feel clean.

We loved the gardens and the pool area. Room was big and adequate for our needs. Food was good though breakfast menu was minimal especially for our young children. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room could have been cleaner with big spider web and spider in corner, and a dirty blanket we grabbed from the cupboard. Cleaner was lovely. Great location, walked to the Hunter Valley Gardens and village.
