What I did not like was NO Christmas decorations not even a tree. When I asked why the front desk staff told me they have been to busy to do it!!! That is so sad especially as we went to the hunter valley to stay and see the hunter valley gardens Christmas lights.

I am so sorry about the lack of Christmas decorations, I have personally decorated the hotel every year for the last 10 years but I am working from home on maternity leave and it seems no one dared to take my place! Mecure was great to see Christmas Spectacular at Hunter Valley Gardens. It does lack in comparison to other hotels. Would be great if it had casual dining (like pub style easy food) rather than just one restaurant which is fine dining inside. The bar is inside (not great for a nice summer evening) Rooms. I felt i stepped back in time. The rooms sure are suitable but somewhat old. Also I requested 2 x twin beds on online along with phone call with payment. This never happened. Accomodation included breakfast we were told to book a time when checked in. At the time had just arrived & was a bit shocked by this request as we knew the breakfast times. The evenings you just feel that you need to go elsewhere as sadly Mecure Hunter Valley has nothing to do / on. This is somewhat surprising as i had stayed at Mecure Hunter Valkey approx 7 years ago & thought it would have been updated by now, but sadly not. I could only recommend the Mecure if you had a concert to go to near by otherwise I wouldn't be in a hurry to return

I do hope you stay with us again to enjoy our fabulous location. We do have some refreshed rooms so feel free to request one of these next time and we will try our best to accommodate. We also have a casual dining menu available at the bar and you may utilise our outdoor tables for food and drinks. We also recommend our sister property Harrigan's Hunter Valley as an al fresco casual dining option. We only request breakfast times at this busy time of year so we can spread out service to avoid long queues as we know this can be tricky with little kids coming to stay for the Christmas lights. Again, so sorry for any shortcomings during your stay and I do hope you visit with us again. Happy holidays, Mary
