We had an excellent stay at Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens. The rooms were very comfortable and made for a truly relaxing visit. The staff were professional, helpful, and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious, and the motel was spotless throughout. We loved our time here and can’t wait to come back.

At multiple points we round ourselves feeling frustrated by the staff and facilities. I had deliberately booked two rooms, each with two double beds. Someone took it upon themselves to upgrade us, which meant we had bigger rooms, but less beds. We no longer had enough beds for the number of people we outlined were staying with us. They eventually changed one of the rooms. In one of the rooms the bathroom door kept self locking so we couldn’t get into the. Bathroom. Reception staff visited twice and the problem continued. In the middle of the night the bedroom door was found to be open. We had realised the door didn’t close properly so had deliberately pushed against it as hard as we could before using the lock to secure the door, or so we thought. At 4am we found the door open. In the morning we noticed a small hook lock up so high I couldn’t reach it, this suggests to me it was a known problem with this door. As part of our bed configuration we had a roll away bed. This was in terrible condition, with visible ripes along the lower mattress. While the bedding was clean the state of this bed was not inviting.
