Motel was centrally located in town and a short walk to the beach. The rooms were clean and well kept however, the staff were not as friendly as other Accor hotels at which we have stayed.

Overall, the hotel is a bit tired. The positives I will give are the staff - everyone I dealt with was lovely; room service + food - AMAZING. Apart from that, the hotel itself could do with a once over. I stayed there roughly 15yrs ago and it was far superior then. The carpet in my room was thin enough that you could appreciate the concrete underneath. The curtain was torn and had been handsewn very roughly back together. It reminded me of pigging dogs and the cuts that people tried to fix with fishing line. The mattresses felt old and hard and were not comfortable at all. And finally, the toilet paper - it was literally paper. Surely the brand can afford some decent toilet paper? I'm sorry to sound mean but I'm only giving this feedback because I believe this hotel was great once upon a time. Oh, the final thing was I elected not to have my room serviced and put the purple tag on my door, but I don't believe I was given 10% off food/drinks....

We stay at Mercure Centro Port Macquarie but this visit we noticed a huge improvement. We received our upgrade, which hasn't happened in the past, we were gifted a lovely bottle of wine. A lovely Mother's Day dinner, we chose the Bar, and I was greeted with a lovely Carnation gift wrapped with a lovely card. Dinner was fabulous but the biggest improvement was breakfast - huge improvement......very enjoyable stay.

I love the Mercure Centro. It is a short walk to the shops ,clean rooms. TV casting was tricky,but we got the Foxtel to work.
