The first day was not good. We have stayed at the Observatory many times, we normally book a courtyard apartment and are quite used to the open plan layout and space, but none were available when I booked. The Ocean View apartment I had booked did not suit us. Although the webpage indicated a larger kitchen, I did not realise everything else about the apartment would be smaller and not suit us. The fact that there was no laundry inside the apartment horrified us! The idea that we would be sharing a washing machine with strangers does not fit the ‘luxury hotel’ we were paying for. The fact that there were two doors to navigate to enter the apartment also was disappointing and frustrating for anyone with a disability. We immediately returned to the reception desk to discuss an alternative arrangement. The receptionist was very helpful and was able to move us to a Courtyard apartment from the next day onwards. She saved our holiday! After that we had the usual great stay at the Observatory.
