Novotel RJ Santos Dumont 4 estrelas

Excellent stay at the Novotel RJ Santos Dumont. The hotel staff was great. Very friendly, efficient, and professional. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The fitness center was well-equipped and available 24/7. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel. As the name implies, the hotel is convenient for Santos Dumont Airport. It is a fairly easy 5 minute walk from the hotel, mainly on a pedestrian bridge above a busy road. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the Rio Metro. The only negative, and not the hotel's fault, is that this part of Rio has a problem with homelessness and is fairly deserted after dark and on weekends. So, it might not be the best area to walk around at night. Again, not the hotel's fault, and it does have good security, but certainly a part of your stay.

This is a tired looking hotel and not what I would expect of the Novatel group. There was tea and coffee making facilities but only one cup and a paper cup. We only spent one night here so it was just ok. I would not have wanted to spend any longer here

We picked this hotel due to its proximity to the airport: 400 m away from the main entrance. During the day hours it is an easy walk, once it gets dark - do not recommend walking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with our late arrival and restaurant closure. They are also the ones who recommend not to wonder around the block after dark. Inside felt safe and secure… the rooms are outdated (that’s the reason for lower score) but clean and of the same style as Novotel hotels in Europe: very nice consistency.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel with the exception of the bed quality. The bed was so poor that I woke up each morning with a sore back. The breakfast was excellent and I enjoyed the gym very much. The employees were all very friendly. Check in and check out were very smooth.

I loved the stay, I felt surrounded by friends the whole time, everyone was kind and caring and seemed interested in my safety and enjoyment and payed close attention to the details, The staff is most valuable piece, all my love to the novotel team especially Vanessa, Leonardo, Anderson, Jazmin, Micael, Marcos, Larissa, Bianca, Fernanda, Nathalia, Alline, Rebeca, Jaqueline and many more I love you, you made my trip 10000 times better, the attention is excellent and personalized, they even signed a letter for me and left chocolate at my room, I will always remember the attention I received at Novotel Santos Dumont.
