3 cousins weekend & we had a lovely stay. Hotel was beautiful & in the perfect location for us to use public transport to visit the Xmas market in the city centre & our Aunt who lives in Morningside.

Dropped bags off early and was informed we had been given a connecting room as 2 adults 4 kids but wasn’t ready, was happy to split up but requested rooms close together. Explored edinburgh and returned about 10pm. Rooms ready but sofa bed not made, someone’s old contacts on the side. Also realised that having been given a connecting room had we had been downgraded from a deluxe room. Reception confirmed but said the price for a superior and deluxe superior was actually the same cost and asked to prove that they weren’t. Breakfast was great, location great, pool was great so can’t complain about any of that.

Dear Amy, thank you for taking the time to to leave your comments for us. We are sorry that, on this occasion, we did not manage to impress you. I believe there must have been a misunderstanding, as I have just checked your reservations and I can confirm that you were not downgraded and you were indeed in two deluxe rooms. We have a limited amount of connecting rooms that are in high demand, as this hotel is very popular with families. Some of those pairs of adjoining rooms have one of the rooms being accessible - however this does not mean that the room is inferior in any shape or form, in fact it is exactly the same room type with the same amenities than the standard layout. The only difference between a Deluxe standard room and an accessible deluxe room is the layout of the bathroom, as accessible rooms need to have more space for wheelchair users to move. Please rest assured that you were allocated in the room type that you booked and you were absolutely not downgraded. I am sorry that this was disappointing and I hope that you return to us in the future for a much better experience. We enjoyed a 2 night family stay, the staff were great, breakfast was really good and the pool was good, extra charge for parking but at £8 a day it’s no big deal, great location for jumping on the tram, option to buy in room movies for families like ours with a young kid would be great going forward as your options for going out are limited with young kids, all in all a really good option and at the right price point we’d definitely happily return
