Stayed here on a few occasions and never had a problem. It's not 5 star and the clue is in the name, Ibis Budget, but I have always found it to be clean and tidy and serves my purpose (usually to take in a match with my 13yo) as I don't live in Portsmouth.

The hotel is only 200m from Fratton Park which is ideal for visiting fans. There is parking and it sits within a business park with supermarkets, shops and fast food outlets nearby. The staff were friendly and informative. There are lifts to all floors. My room was very comfortable with a lovely bed and hot shower. The price was £52 for a single use of a double. It had good wifi. There isn't a bar/restaurant but the reception area has plenty of seating and there are vending machines which sell alcohol. A negative point would be the lack of tea making facilities. You can however buy a pack of supplies from the reception and obtain a kettle, too.

The hotel could clearly do with a significant makeover but was clean, comfortable with helpful friendly staff. The hotel was basic but at a reasonable price.
