We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights at had the perfect room. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, and the food was very good all around. The location was at the end of the beach which was perfect for us.

The stay was very good overall, but I was uncomfortable with the amount of nudity around the children’s pool, particularly as the area where they were sitting was very shallow and clearly intended for young children; there were other parts of the pool with the same cabanas, loungers and sunshine where guests wishing to sunbathe nude could have enjoyed the facilities away from the family area.

Our room was an interconnecting room which was small and we also had black stains all over our mirror. I had told them prior I was celebrating a birthday and that was the room they allocated for us knowing the occasion.

The stay started off good but soon went downhill when the first morning at 9am there was no hot water, so my pregnant wife and two kids had to shower in cold water. When I mentioned this at check out I was just given a casual ‘sorry about the cold water’. Terrible staff with no proper training on how to speak to customers in a 5 star hotel. I asked for my dissatisfaction about the room issues to be investigated not once did an engineer come to check the room. I also asked for the manager to be informed, did not hear from the manager once. As a diamond member my impressions of the Sofitel brand is not great.

Our stay at Sofitel Agadir Thalassa Sea & Spa was unfortunately disappointing, and after just two nights we decided to leave and continue our holiday at another hotel.
The property itself is attractive and the beach location is pleasant, but several operational issues significantly affected our experience. The booking app created confusion by applying the spa package and breakfast to only one guest, despite our reservation being for two people. The hotel then charged us for an additional breakfast without clearly explaining the situation, and we only discovered the mistake after asking why only one of us had access to the spa benefits.
There are also some practical aspects worth knowing before booking. The Sea View rooms are a considerable walk from the main facilities, including the restaurants and bars. If you value peace and quiet, be aware that the villas with direct access to the private pools are located on the ground floor. If a family with young children is staying above or nearby, noise can easily affect your ability to relax.
Breakfast was perhaps the biggest disappointment. Although the hotel aims to deliver a five-star experience, the service is chaotic. Waiting staff take a long time to come and take egg orders, and even longer to bring water or juice. If you arrive after 10:00 a.m., you may find yourself chasing waiters while the buffet is already being cleared away, even though breakfast service is still ongoing. Overall, the service fell well below the standard we expected from a luxury hotel.
