Have just spent 7 nights at this hotel. The pool complex and outdoor areas together with the beach frontage are on a par with the best I have stayed in. There is an abundance of staff all friendly and eager to help. In the bars and dining areas there are however a level of “middle management / supervisors” dressed in nice suits who appear to do little other than smile at guests: at the slightest question or query they defer to their “hands on” colleagues or simply vanish. Food and drink prices are on a par with what to expect from a hotel of this calibre and materially more expensive than local restaurants in the area - the one exception would be bottled water in the hotel restaurants and bars which is extortionately priced! Overall I would endorse that this hotel provides a 5 star African hotel experience At the same time I must warn fellow travellers of the "over promising" by concierge my wife and I experienced and suggest future holiday makers obtain greater clarity. On this trip of a lifetime we wanted specifically to visit the YSL gardens in Marrakech, this was not included in any package day trip we could find with either our own or other travel operators, we therefore reached out to the hotel in advance of our visit and we’re advised it was not a problem to arrange a more expensive private transportation and guide package through them to undertake a day trip to Marrakech which would include a visit to the gardens, we simply needed to arrange with concierge on arrival at the hotel. Upon arrival we stressed the wish to visit the gardens as part of a Marrakech day trip and receiving the appropriate affirmation therefore went ahead and arranged. How disappointing then to be told when our guide arrived and we were travelling to Marrakech it would not be possible as entrance tickets had not been arranged beforehand. In summary concierge blamed the guide / transportation operator and vice versa, and we were left with just a simple apology and shrug of the shoulders for an expensive day trip which rather than being memorable for all the right reasons of visiting the YSL gardens was memorable for the wrong reasons of a long expensive trip to Marrakesh without visiting our prime reason for wanting to visit

My girlfriend and I visited in November for her birthday, and we had a lovely time. The buffet was delicious, with great pastry and food options. The staff was very welcoming and catered to all our needs. We never felt like we had to leave the hotel for dinner because the food was great. We had great options in terms of restaurants, and would definitely recommend the Spanish restaurant. But the seafood restaurant was also delicious with a perfect view of the sea. For her birthday, they worked around the clock to make sure that it was a great experience for her and also a surprise which she wasn't expecting, helping me select ideal positions within the restaurant, but also getting a cake sorted out as well. Overall, we felt well catered for and it was definitely what I would call a 5 star experience. I would like to thank the staff and I would definitely recommend this to others in the future.

Mixed experience

Agadir in March is great for some winter sun. The hotel stay was a very mixed experience lots of good things but quite a few disappointments. The good bits are great location on the beach, rooms good although air conditioning a bit problematic, housekeeping staff are excellent, waiting staff in all 3 restaurants are also really good although very busy in main restaurant. Food and service in Spanish restaurant, beach restaurant and by the pool was very good to excellent as well. Spa seemed very well run and treatments good and about same as Uk prices. The downsides we encountered, breakfast got very busy later on and could be a challenge to get a table as waiting staff often too busy to clear tables, we ate in the main restaurant (buffet) one night only as again very busy, no labels on any food and no guidance provided on what the system was, we did note there were always however a lot of senior staff around (in suits) who didn’t seem to do anything other than walk around or stand at the tills and if you asked them for anything, they just directed to the helpful but very busy junior staff. The major disappointment was the reception/concierge staff, pretty unhelpful on any question asked and to top it off after staying for a week couldn’t extend our room checkout to 3pm even though hotel half full. There are also no instructions/ guidance booklets so you do have to ask how things work. Overall we enjoyed a nice relaxing stay but it’s not European standard 5 star service overall but the prices are.
