Dreadful hotel, stop somewhere else!

Dreadful hotel with dreadful service, very unfriendly welcome at reception and we were told nothing about the facilities like breakfast, the pool etc. There was no information in the room which had a very odd layout with a separate toilet without a sink and there were tiny paper cups and no mugs or glasses. Very dirty corridors with carpets in need of a good clean and long waits for the lifts. When my wife complained to reception the guy just said thank you! Bar staff clueless and kept disappearing leaving bar unattended . Lady who served us didn’t appear to know anything or have had any training and had to keep disappearing to ask a colleague for help. Forget about any early swims before breakfast, the pool doesn’t open til 9.00 and you have to book a slot in advance and they only allow 10 people at a time. Give this place a miss and stop at another hotel!

Visit started out really well. I visit often but this is my first time staying at a Novotel brand anywhere. Patrick checked me in and I was happy with his warm attitude, professionalism given that I wasn't a loyalty member. What really surprised me is the basic common sense, practices, accountability of the staff at checkout that took away from the overall experience. I thought I would do what anybody does: walk to front desk, checkout and get my printed bill. They promptly open up the folio, did the checkout and charged my card, but for some reason had no ability to print my bill. I waited 15 minutes as 'Daas"' tried different steps. Eventually my car to the station was going to leave, so I asked him if he wouldn't mind sending me by e-mail since I could not afford to miss my train. I just didn't know if it was another 10 minutes, 20 minutes or ever. I wrote my e-mail address and got a firm yes. And of course I left. I never got the e-mail. I have followed up multiple times with the front desk and have given up. How can a hotel that run such a large property in a central location have this level of professionalism? I can understand there would be a dozen reasons (technical) that they could not print my bill at the time, but why the lack of follow through. The irresponsibility and incompetence of the staff took away from the pleasant professionalism that Patrick gave. To the manager reading this: the bill is not just a piece of paper. We need it to file our business expenses for our work trips. How can your staff make something so basic so difficult?

One of the worst hotels. Dated not welcoming staff don’t care bar only stays open untill 10.55 pm in a hotel what are you thinking. So many nice hotels in Paris don’t bother with this one. Utter joke Insect Traps in the meeting rooms joke. Please spend some money and updates your hotel

Big Disappointment for Such a Small Room

Let’s start with the good points: the lobby is nice and large, the room cleaning service was super fast & the food was excellent in the bar. Now for the not so good points: outside of the Eiffel Tower, which was a good 10 minute walk, we had to take Uber or G7 everywhere. It was like we were staying in the suburbs. The layout of our room was horrible, impractical & was small. We felt like we were staying on a cruise ship but in a room not as practical. There were no drawers, no hooks & one little narrow shelf under bath sink. The way the sink was designed you could not leave any of your toiletries out if you were sharing the room with anyone else. We had 5 hangers and there was only an electrical outlet and light controls on one side of the bed. In fact, there were only 2 plugs in the whole room. We did find a 3rd plug at floor level by the mirror on the last day. Lastly, every time we showered the water came out of the little glass partition so bad that we literally had to mop up the floor. One tip: it was a bit dangerous stepping in & out of the tub. If you have any problems lifting your leg high or in need of grip bars (there are none) consider requesting an ADA room. When we asked if we could upgrade our room we were told it would be $50 more a night, which we would have gladly paid, but none were available. The breakfast came with our cost, however, if you have to pay extra for it, don’t bother. You can go around the corner & grab a pastry & coffee. Overall, a very unpleasant stay.

Tenement hotel in an unappealing location. Conditions of this hotel are terrible and are in extreme need of updating. Dirty carpet in hallways, exterior floor is chipped in many locations, no concierge services and remote from most tourist areas in Paris. Hotels are grossly inadequate at busy times of the day. At checkout it took us 25 minutes to get from the 9th floor to the lobby. We admonish Monograms from putting us up at this hotel.
