The front desk staff was always nice, but they just couldn't get the blanket size right. I had to ask three times for a double blanket. The bathroom and the room itself are pretty old. And don't even get me started on the breakfast: it was terrible. They were out of everything, from food to forks and glasses.

room is spacious but one of the bedside lights would not turn off, as the switch was loose. I had to put a pair of socks on it before going to bed so that I could sleep in the dark. There are no blankets or duvets of any kind available to tuck yourself into in case you turn on the AC. I called reception but they actually said none was available because they had no idea where they were. There is a QR code everywhere for restaurant menus, hotel information and other services, but not every link works. Only one elevator was operating, so there was a long wait at times. Other than that, the room is really spacious and the staff was friendly. Price point was great as well, so I am satisfied overall.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean and well presented, breakfast was good and waiters were educated and available. Overall hotel real estate was in poor condition, with wooden furniture stuffed from humidity, mold in door key receiver, hallway walls chipped and with broken painting. Overall furniture was old. Hotel needs a renovation to be up to Mercure standards again.

Horrible. The hotel has bug infestation and smell mold. I changed rooms and did not received not even apologies. Later my colleague in the same hotel found bugs also in his room. Bugs in the bed. Unacceptable. We have pictures and videos of the bugs.

The room was awful, the furnitures were broken, the air conditioning flow direction’s system was broken, letting the air directly to the bad. The doors were not opening, I almost got stucked inside the room. I have been hosted in many Mercure hotels and all of them were very good, but the Recife’s one is definitely the exception.
