There were rats by the entrance doors, directly outside the hotel entrance. The were mice in the dining area. I observed, there was direct access to the kitchen. I won't be eating there again. The LOCATION: Although, it is in the centre of town, and directly opposite the harbour, the immediate surrounding area and access points are full of people sleeping rough in the streets, drugs and youth gangs outside the hotel. I did not feel very safe. Parking facility is shared with a public car park, there was human faeces and urine just next to my car, I had my dog and standing all over it inadvertently. I would expect you demanded a bit more control over the state of the parking facilities, and surrounding areas the the relevant authorities. However, there are already visibly signs of wear and tear in my room. I slept comfortably, and the staff were polite, helpful and professional. Unfortunately, it does not compare to other Ibis Styles hotels in other cities. I will not go back to that hotel if I can avoid it.

I booked this hotel because it had a restaurant but I found the surprise. It was closed because, according to what we were told, the staff was sick. Unbelievable, it hasn't happened to me in my life. I thought that the Accor company was organized to manage the physiological absences that its employees may have. And instead he dumped the problem his guests who were screwed. I have been an Accor customer for years but I have been very disappointed, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels but I have never had a misadventure like this, not even in small family-run hotels that in the end turned out to be more serious and reliable. In the future I will evaluate different structures.

The hotel is well located for attending rugby matches or catching ferries; much less so if visiting the town. Whilst the room was clean, it was also very basic but this apparently is the norm for the Ibis Style brand which contrasted with my memories of former stays. We had a very unenthusiastic welcome to the hotel: reception staff prioritised answering telephone calls and lefts us and other guests waiting.

The location was great; just by the port and easy access to the beach, but the hotel itself is extremely difficult to find. The entrance is accessible by a "hidden" stairs without any signs for the hotel. Besides that, the stay was pleasant; simple, clean and functional rooms, air conditioning worked well, and the breakfast was nice.

Very disappointed with the hotel: parking fees say 14.5€ in the website but this is if you keep the car in the garage. If you have to leave and come back a couple of times a day you have to pay yourself the fees each time and the parking is 17.30€ for 24h anyway so there is no saving at all with the hotel. Breakfast was fine but the staff was not professional: no greetings, no smile. You ask for something missing (fork, knife, bread) and they look at you like you annoy them. I was surprised by the lack of professionalism. Finally our room smelled bad (room 116) due to probably lack of use and air renewal for a while but it was impregnated in the room despite opening the window. Very very disturbing experience.

The same issue as in ALL ACCOR HOTELS: avoid plastic matress cover. Please find another way to protect matresses that does not make people sweat while sleeping on a plastic bag. The other point: scrambled eggs from powdered / already mixed eggs was bad. It was dry and tasteless. We could tell once in the plate it was not from fresh eggs.
