We arrived at this hotel in the evening only to find that our room was like a sauna. The controls in our room did not alter the temperature. We advised the night manager of our problem but he was not interested in helping us. He resumed typing on his laptop and then served another customer. When I asked him to do something about our room, he became quite aggressive. He eventually asked another staff member to change the temperature so that rooms would be on cooling instead of heating. It was a very unpleasant experience, the night manager was rude and not customer focussed. The hotel needs to upgrade its air-conditioning so that the temperature in the rooms can be controlled by the customers. We would never return to this hotel.

The location of this property is perfect if you want to be close to good shopping, restaurants, markets, tourist booking offices, souvenir shops, and a Spar supermarket which sells hot croissants and bread daily! It is a short taxi ride from Porto railway station. Reception staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to assist with any of our enquires. Our room was clean, good linen and towels and the bath room and toiletries well provided for. Breakfast was well catered with a good variety to choose from. The hotel is across the road from good markets offering a variety of goods and a comfortable walk to other city shopping. Definitely a well located and comfortable place to stay!

One of the best Mercure I have been to in terms of staff professionalism, cleanliness, hotel location. The receptionist Hugo was absolutely perfect in handling my wrong booking date, and organizing the little benefits that come with the Platinum level.
