Bedroom comfortable. However, there was work going on in hotel with refurbishment around ground floor. The noise of this gave us an early start to the day. When I queried why we were not advised that this was a possibility, reception told me I should have called them and they would have stopped it - too late once you are woken is it not? Unsympathetic viewpoint from reception. I was told that next time they would sort things out - next time? It needed sorted there and then.

Your bed mattress is way to hard and its very uncomfortable to sleep on these plastic sheets

I feel welcome every time I return to this hotel. Check in went smooth, the manager came to help me personally. Everyone at the restaurant and bar are very friendly. The only reason I did not give the maximum score this time is that the room was not that great. The hotel was really fully booked so I had to take whatever was left. Will definitely check with them again next time in Reggio Emilia.

This booking was made in the context of a group reservation. The support for the group booking was really bad: no flexibility, too early booking deadline (4 months before the event), no reply to request, no possibility to book more rooms than initially estimated.

Not worth a Mercure Hotel (anymore)

The price was OK and considering that one could have even liked the old fashioned style of the hotel. But obvious maintenance deficits like damaged wardrobe doors or loose toilet seats are unacceptable and not the style I'm used to in other Accor Hotels. The night shift manager was very nice but his colleague of the day shift the next morning perfectly suited the antiquated character of the hotel. The only positive thing about her was that she spoke French.

Some of the decor in the hotel is a little tired. But the hotel was clean, the staff friendly and the food at breakfast and the in restaurant was very good.

We stayed one night in Reggio aemillia in June. The hotel is in a great location, with easy parking. The rooms are a little old but still very comfortable. First rate service and a very good buffet breakfast topped it off.

We found the hotel difficult to locate from the car - the Mercure sign is not obvious and high up - but the room was good and the food fine. What set it apart, were the value at a weekend, and the service from reception, which was truly excellent.
