Basic hotel at an expensive price due to the location

A typical basic Ibis which was all I was looking for. It had a great view but there was quite a bit of maintenance needed in the room, various damage was showing its age. The worst part though were thin walls and a fridge that was so loud I was forced to unplug it if I wanted any sleep. I used the iron, and it spat out black particles that nearly ruined my shirt. I will add that the staff were very helpful in general, but for some reason they double charged me for one of my meals and 3 weeks later I still have not received a credit for it. A little bit of maintenance and training and this would actually be a pretty good option.

Stayed here for the second time, as I was (again, for the second time) travelling to Sydney from interstate for the sole purpose of seeing a show at the Sydney Lyric Theatre. Just a short walk to and from the theatre and easy to access from the airport. Only drawback on this occasion was an annoying dog barking in the neighbourhood for a good portion of the night and my room faced the street rather than the harbour, so the barking echoed off the buildings. Of course, this is not at all the hotel’s fault and there’s nothing they could do about it, but it did make it hard to sleep. Anyway, would recommend for its sheer convenience.

Central location in Darling Harbour is very convenient. The Ibis staff were all polite, friendly and professional. The only slight downside was the condition of my room, which while overall okay, was showing its age. The desk was not firmly attached to the wall, there were noticeable stains on the bench seat and some damage to the grouting and paint in the bathroom/bathroom door.

We arrived at hotel and settled in we heard what sounded like gun shots to our surprise we opened up the blind and there was fire works which was a great surprise and very pretty Well it would be good if the hotel had a better meal menu I’ve had a sleeve and can only eat a few mouthfuls so would have liked a kids meal plus we don’t eat Brekky we had a few hours to fill in before boarding our ship so we wanted lunch but no lunch meals not even bar meals at 11am great view of harbour and city at night it was lovely sitting outside having a few drinks
