We stayed here for 2 nights while exploring the area and loved how it was so close to the historical town center. Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was very good.

at check in all was great, the staff were very friendly and polite, the room was very clean, in great condition and amazing, the house keepers are fantastic and do an amazing job cleaning the rooms and all common areas, overall our experience was great NOW this is the reason that I HAD to give a bad review, the checkout was a nightmare, supposedly the check in employee didn't put on our file that we paid the full bill in cash and left it as unpaid ( I'm not sure how we would have gotten our room key without payment) , so at checkout we were asked for payment again, I said I paid cash. there was a lineup and people where listening to what was going on, I HAVE NEVER FELT SO HUMILIATED AND EMBARASSED IN MY LIFE, I told the front desk employee to just go check the footage from the camera that's set up at the front and that he would be able to see that I had in fact paid cash, he chose to keep trying to call other staff on the phone and not getting any help from them, finally someone on the phone told him to let us leave, he did but still didn't look very convinced that we had actually paid our bill, I requested that a copy of the paid invoice be sent to me and it was sent later that same day, with the balance showing as paid in full and with a very short apology. This experience left me shaken and not trusting any other hotels on our Portuguese holidays so much so that I paid for everything with my Visa from that day on, which is kindda sad because the reason we were paying for everything in cash on our vacation was so that all the hotels and restaurants would not have to pay banking fees on credit cards, lesson learned and NO we will NEVER be staying at any hotels from your company

This was one of the best Ibis hotels. Before 3 years they decided to renovate. They chosen to renovate keeping the bigger part at work... This was proven at least problematic because the hotel never worked properly.
