I’m afraid we didn’t have a great experience here. We found the restaurant staff extremely rude both for evening and breakfast. We did find the reception manager extremely helpful though. Just be aware that Zurich does not have air conditioning so the room was extremely hot.

I arrived at 2:30 pm with my family because I had to go somewhere shortly after. I was told that the room was not ready and that early check-in would cost CHF 60. I felt that CHF 60 was too much for only a 30-minute early check-in. I asked if I could complete the payment so that my family could access the room at 3:00 pm while I was away. I paid and specifically asked the receptionist to give the room key to my wife. She agreed. However, while I was in the city running errands, my wife called me to say she was not allowed to check in. The receptionist told her that she needed my ID and that I had to be present. I was very surprised and confused. Firstly, the receptionist could have informed me before I left that my wife would not be able to receive the key without me being present. I clearly asked her to give the key to my wife, and she said “okay,” but then acted differently afterward. Additionally, my wife was there with our two daughters, and instead of helping to find a solution, the receptionist raised her voice at her, which was very inappropriate. Overall, I feel that the reception staff are not adequately trained. Some of them do not speak German well, and their English is also limited. I believe this is something that should be reviewed.
